Unintentionally made ESO harder - didn't allocate CP after a hiatus from game til today

I've done some amazingly newbiesh things over the last 2 1/2 years of playing ESO but taking a hiatus and then coming back and not allocating CP has got to be up there in my achievements.

I had no idea they'd been refunded.

I did notice content was harder but had already read about people complaining, how post-Morrowind PvE was more difficult. I even got annihilated in CP PvP (but not sub-50 PvP) and so had considered changing my builds and CP and such, but with 14 characters now I hadn't found the time.

Did DB and Undaunted dailies on some alts, did Writs on a few, too, and explored new content. Really, the only character I was really dissatisfied with is my bosmer stamblade, who took an astonishing amount of damage from regular old delve PvE mobs. For some bizarre reason that's also the one I PvPed with during the few hours I could spare for this buggy midyear event.

Suffice it to say I finally decided to work on one toon's build today and stared, awstruck, at CP, not even understanding it wasn't that one character. Then it gradually dawned on me...

I did, however, spend time doing makeovers for all costumes, other appearance stuff, pet and mount combos for all characters. Manly PvPer vanity priorities take precedence over fluff like mechanics.

This story deserves at least 10 awesomes. Unfortunately, I can only offer one.

    I daresay I wasn't. Probably the only person with /playedall > 1 year, though.

I know you aren't. I had a friend who tanked a trial and was so confused on what was happening. It took a day to realize, but I assume he would of realized after gain another cp, but now lets imagine if he was max level already. I wonder if there's a chance there's some players how haven't used champion points since morrowind. It would make sense about some complains. Going a little bit further, I would if they allocated it correctly... after you know only whole numbers or integers count.

I recall some internets famous streamer having a duel that was trumpeted for weeks. He won, barely, but later realized he never put points into his heavy armor passives.

So it happens to everyone in one form or another, even the super hardcore players.

Strangely enough that's what caused me to take the time to rejigger as many characters' CP allocation as I did once I realized my mistake. So I could get them settled with the passives I wanted without wasting too many points on non-integer values.

I have way past max CP. I can't believe I attributed the weakening to Morrowind changes without noticing the missing CPs' contribution. LOL. I guess I adapted fairly well.

I wish there was a toggle to turn off champion points. Seeing things be more challenging again sometimes is rather enjoyable.

Figured someone would rep me to the mods. Didn't want to get banned. I have heard it's a drag.

It's called alcohol. I can't count the number of times some otherwise-=reliable hillbilly guildie comes to pvp or a trial or the like drunk and it takes a while to figure out why they're suddenly rather downy-soft.

There is a small notification graphic on the icon at the top of the screen. Same as when you get a new costume or other appearance change item.

However, you learn to ignore those after a while.

Like when I recently posted a video from youtube without bothering to actually watch it and got banned for posting something with "extreme violence" in it? LMAO. I still don't actually know what was in that video. Looked harmless.

I genuinely never notice those along the top menu bar. Only if I'm in the Collections UI screens.

Online forums in general are out of control when it comes to banning people.

I think it's time we put some consumer rights protections in place that extend to online interactions that are open to the public. Because people are treated far too arbitrarily these days.
