Mostly it's the non-vampires or werewolves that bother me. Always yelling in zone, asking to be bitten. It really is quite bothersome.

Wws are a problem in dules as they insta kill you at transform and are a anoyance in pvp as all they can do is fear before they drop dead from poison injcet lol. As they always outta resources all they to in pvp in groups is fear and light attack. They need a fix. Make em great again by lowering thir dmg, alow animation cancelling and increase they sustain big time!

Why did everyone turn this into a thread about actual sats and effectiveness?
    Hoping for more playable races.

I just want werewolf to be viable in endgame PvE T.T (which not allowed according to PTS update 50)

I would answer your question by saying Forum Posting is a game unto itself, and at times is a Blood-sport. People on these forums get distracted often. For example when I saw your Forum title, "Werewolves, do they bother you?" My first thought was no , I carry Wolfsbane. But then I read your post and decided to skip it, until now. ;)

When towns are full of bears, Daedric pets, people in skeleton form are riding flaming Daedric horses and wearing the severed heads of monsters they've killed, it's a bit difficult to be a purist about immersion. Realistically, such things would send most NPCs into a fit of panic, but it's an MMO, and that's the nature of the beast...so to speak. And to be fair, there are worse immersion-breaking things than werewolves running in the wild questing and killing things, which is where they are usually seen since you can't maintain WW form long out of combat.

    No, doesn't really bother me.

I do, however, wish the game actually looked at you and gave some measure of reactions to what you are. Many others actually bother me more and would make a better, more complete game, in my opinion.

Seeing as how we've got the "one Tamriel" thing going on these days, I find myself wishing that NPC's not only recognized when I'm a werewolf, but also recognized me as a notable officer from the Cyrodil battlefront when I'm wandering through a mine in Auridon. I mean, the guards in Cyrodil know I'm the hero of Davon's Watch and all that, yet the pact soldiers in other areas are just so much more red fodder to delay me while I'm chopping logs. That's more immersion breaking to me, really.

Or when I'm playing "any alliance, any race" and my Pact orc never once got questioned about such a thing all the way to fifty.

Werewolf fan, so no it doesn't bother me in the slightest. About a week ago I saw a group of four or five in Bleakrock running in a pack in the distance, almost as if they were in pursuit of something. No other players were around, just me (hiding in the shadows, watching) and this black mass of beast. Majestic.

Lmao you clearly ran across someone who had no clue how 2 play Ww. I basically ignore poison injection(imfact i like i like it it extends my Ww time i have little to no substain issues, and my damage is still pretty high even the i only 1shot squishes in pvp. As a roleplayer, I love getting what immersion I can... but werewolves are pretty low on the priority list there. You really only see them in high-combat situations, like delves and general mob grinding, not really in town or anything. Personally, my werewolf makes a point to never transform around NPCs, since she doesn't want to be discovered... but that's more a roleplaying limitation than an actual game limitation, and it doesn't really bug me that not every WW decides not to do that.

Far more immersion breaking for me are all the obvious Stage 4 vampires just hanging around town. Seems the guards would have a lot more chance to detect and confront those. XD

But in the end, this is a matter of letting other players play how they like. Personally, both my vampire and my werewolf take measures to "avoid notice" (staying at Stage 1 and not transforming in front of people, respectively), but I do that because I enjoy the challenge of playing that way, not because I expect anyone else to do the same.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

I find some guy walking past me in bright red or pink dresses far more immersion breaking than that. Wolves will be wolves, vamps will be vamps. I mean, shouldn't the people take notice of this person who walks around with bloodshot eyes and looking distinctly corpse-like? Nope, "Hail, friend!" it is.

Yeah it bothers me a bit, but I forget it a bit later
It is more of like, "I do not like it but I understand it is for gameplay reasons so I don't think about it too much".

Same for characters completely ignoring vampirism. Doing the Rivenspire quest line with my vampire was upsetting.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Yes! It's immersion breaking and I hate it! Werewolves shouldn't be friendly encounters.
Several of my characters are werewolves and it really DOES annoy me that I can do the quests where I have to stop a werewolf infestation (Glenumbra, etc) and I show in to turn in the quest AS A WEREWOLF. Or how people talk bad about werewolves and I go lopping around town without hear the screams of frightened townsfolk.

I get it from a designer perspective, but it DOES make ZERO sense. Werewolves in werewolf form and vampires at later stages (I have vampire toons as well) should be attacked on sight and warrant the same type of response from NPCs that they give when they see a murder.

They SHOULDN'T be like "Hey, you saved the king... Huzzag!" Because I wasn't in werewolf form when I saved the king, so how would they know....

Why should I care what others do?

    1. If they want to run the hands-down worse monster setup, so be it. As long as it isn't my healer in a dungeon I don't care. If a werewolf is hitting 20k in wolf form, I'm fine with it.
    2. In PvP they are free AP, and I don't need to group with them if they are on my side.
    3. In RP stuff, werewolves players are pretty reclusive and cool. Since it isn't the "dark and edgy" style that attracts all the annoying kids. (They go vampire. Because goth)

Ultimately, I don't care much about werewolves outside of wanting them buffed, badly, so they can compete with vampires in trials.

This. I don't believe in "immersion" to start with, but from the various ways I've seen people complain about their immersion being broken/ruined/etc, I have no idea how any MMO could be immersive.

(Heck, based my time on the Skyrim forums, Skyrim's the least immersive game ever, what with it daring to have combat music, any on-screen UI at all, or switching to third person for some actions.... /eyeroll)

I don't care. My immersion is already broken after sneaking into this highly secret, never before traversed, Cave X where an ancient evil is growing which threatens the world, and proceed to see six other players there just hanging out.

I love MMO's, but I hate how many players invade my single-player experience. The main storyline of the Vestige was handled well, as it was instanced. DLC like the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, not so much. When there are thousands of horses running to the Dark Brotherhood hideout every hour of the day, it's highly unbelievable that Gold Coast authorities are still ignorant of its location, on such a laughably small island. It's also hard to believe the Thieves Guild is in danger of non-existence, when at any given time I see 30+ players in Thieves Guild hideouts.

    Cue immersion broken.

    Mostly this.

EP is probably the least vampire friendly.

DC has Rivenspire and the king openly consorts with vampires.
If your immersion is that fragile, play single player games.

This is an MMO, not an RPG.

I don't RP and rarely read the dialogue, but enough that some things drive me batty. Like the time I hit an imperial after they were all rounded up in a quest line and received a bounty, went to have the king of Alikr tell everyone how I saved the entire kingdom and his throne, and stepped outside to have two guards attack and kill me. Literally seconds after.

    Unkillable guards are poo.

DAoC had RP servers and full time name policing. They also handed out bans to people for harassing roleplayers.
