Hi, so I got a legendary infused bow of Wizards Riposte from BG leaderboards.

I thought I read only relevant weapons for the set would drop now in some patch notes at some point? Or am I mistaken?

    I keep hearing that voice, not sure if its in my dreams or somewhere else.

    I have read that they want to, but poring over all the patch note versions is not my idea of fun to see if they implemented it. I don't think I found it the last time I looked a few months ago.

    The only restriction is on items that would be impossible to use. IE a set that buffs bow abilities only on a twohander
    If you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].

    As someone has said earlier, smart loot only applies to combinations that are impossible to use like a destro staff of sword singer or a staff of Hawkeye. While there are combinations that don't make sense like what the op found, they still can utilize the set bonuses.

    AFIAK, the only ability it affects that you might use is the bear.

    But, yeah, that's not what smart loot was supposed to prevent. What you won't see is a Sword Dancer's resto staff, nor Spider Cultist's for that matter. But you can get Automaton in whatever because, theoretically, you might be slotting FG abilties out of sheer masochism.

    My loot never is that smart. Used to play chess against a Greatsword of Willpower but it lost 3 out of 5 games... Pff, loser!

    ZOS explained that items only don't drop if there is absolutely zero chance the 5 pc could be utilized. Therefore there are a lot of silly combinations still.

    I hold onto my Vicious Ophidian sharpened lightning and precise Resto staff for a giggle.

    I had at one time a sharpened resto staff of destruction mastery.

    Smart loot is not so smart it seems.
