Seems like a missed opportunity

So I'll admit it. I'm cheap. But I am taken in by a good deal. I played the hell out of the dlc content during the free period and kept thinking, hey I would buy this if it were a bit cheaper. Funny thing is I'm sure I wasn't alone in thinking this. So why the hell didn't they have a sale on either the DLC's themselves or crowns to buy them during this free period when people were most likely to purchase them?

I mean yes, well all know Zeni has a real backward way of thinking when it comes to marketing (ok with most things), but wouldn't a sale to coincide with the free play period (like every other game out there does it) be something they would do?

OK that ship has sailed, I get it. But how about now? I've only played for a few months and leveled 3 toons and am NOT going to buy Morrowind until it's 19.99 or less but would like more to do. I hear every now and then they have a crown sale. Is one coming? Can I request on now? Don't care. I hereby issue Zeni an official do-over. Give us a sale and I'm betting cheap ppl like me will throw money at you. You like money I know based on how much you thought morrowind was worth. Make it so.

Well that would certainly encourage me to put this on hold and get to my back catalog of other games, but then I would probably miss the sale leading to a tailspin of disinterest and this becoming the latest smoking husk in my long line of abandoned MMOs. Potentially well played Z

Chill on the drama. They weren't trying to market the DLC to you. They were trying to market ESO+ to you. This was not a free trial period for the DLC. It was a free trial period for the Sub model.

This wasn't even a slightly ambiguous thing. Just because you chose to view the event through your own perspectives doesn't mean ZOS is being stupid for not catering to you.

Having a big sale on the DLC (or Crowns) would, in fact, be a terrible way to encourage people to sub. That would have been a pretty stupid move on their part.

I came in here thinking it would be about how the nix-ox tower should have a custom animation or at least show your character In the passenger seat before the fade to black. I wish they worked like the old zeppelins from snip. That was always a bit of community fun, waiting around for the departure with others gave some nice interactions.

Whoa rein it big guy. You seem to have missed my point, I get that it was a sub trial. The point is not everyone wants/needs a sub but are still interested in the DLC unlocked by the preview that they had not had a chance to try before. The "missed opportunity" being that they did nothing to cater to those potential customers. If you enjoy your sub, that's great and I'm happy you are enjoying what it brings you. At this point that does not interest me as much as permanently unlocking the DLC. Hence my post.

Zos has had sales for IC, Orsinium and TG. I do not recall if they had a sale on DG or not.

Also, buying DLCs have always cost less than sub and that was with 4 DLC a year. Since it is averaging less it is even a better deal than a sub, though subs get some sweet perks.

Besides, that trial period was promoting subscriptions. It was not a trial of the DLC as much as it was a trial of ESO+ which is why it included the crafting bag, double bank space and double house deco slots.

They do put the DLCs on sale periodically, they also have crown sales periodically. They also introduced a 4-pack of DLC priced so you're basically getting one of the cheaper ones for free.

I'm sorry none of these coincided with when you personally wanted to buy them, but the options do exist and likely will again. If you're not willing to wait then I don't really know what to suggest. It's highly unlikely they're going to rearrange their marketing schedule because of one post on the forum.

I do appreciate the input and I guess any sales on crowns and DLC were before my time here so I'm hoping they do them quarterly so maybe it's possible they will do one again soon. While I think 50+ dollars is steep for the DLC combo on the crown store, it seems to be missing at least one of the DLCs although I can't figure out which one. That would also affect it's value to me.

Maybe they will do a compilation of Morrowind and all the current DLC at some point. I might pay 50 for that
