Well i'll take it back under his nose, that's my whole point, he's a useless tank. And if I don't have anyone else to flip the flag with me, then that's fine, it's not like a ressource is gonna change the tide of the campaign.

Facetanking people is only useful if you have a way to take them out. If 10 potatoes can't take you out, then they won't be any use to whatever siege battle they were going to anyways ^^ In fact if they were smart, they would have avoided you. Or you'd be dead pretty fast.

And if you argue that those potatoes would have been useful because they can use siege, or simply because your own faction has potatoes as well so it's evenly matched, well killing them buys your faction more time than tanking them.

In my opinion , the best way to see if you are tanking good is to go alone.
Like me, Gorrag, Draconis do.

Tanking with healers and others players close is not the same.

From my experience, the main point behind these builds is exactly what you've posted. It sucks in enough people determined they can really do it and takes their focus away from whatever they would have been chasing.

Given that, it may not make much difference either way, but it still provides distraction for other alliance members: to kill, to escape, or simply to carry on unaffected.

If you can tank 12 players for 2 min straight, without running around a tree, you've specced enough into tankyness that whatever your skill level I have nothing to fear in terms of damage coming from you !

point is though, in a group, or just to pull a bunch of stuff, someone like Severene or Esco or Gorrag or Poawers or Tamerlin can literally have 20+ people beating on them ANY time they leave the keep

Gorrag used to say that he makes so little AP as a tank its laughable, but the amount of stuff and the RANKS of some of the people that would beat on them was just hilarious - and almost impossible to bomb

check out Fengrush's video, they have a HUGE long fight with Poawers tanking for them, its absolutely nuts

pointless or not, these guys actually LAUGH at what happens and even when they die

I basically play on my tank with 2 styles

1-)Alone (Just to see how much damage I can take before I die)
2-)On group ( Healing, rooting and tanking ) Yea.,, I can HEAL A LOT

Talking about Fengrush we had one fight with him and I was there. I guess we had same numbers. After a long fight we won and Fengrush blamed CP campaing. He also made a video about this fight saing "This is why CP is being nerfed " on his channel. I also thought it was nice, because even he lost the fight, he posted. I like Fengrush even I know he does not like my playstyle.

But we had some good players at our side and we won not because the CP, but because I was there (Just kidding). We had some vet pvp players on your group.

I will always defend tank class because I am a tank I am know what a tank can do.

Not kill, not do any damage... But I will make a lot easier to DPS kill enimies.

People hate what they can not kill easily.

If youre not a dk tank or templar bol heal tank, you're completely useless you a group in open field. Being ignored while you can't support your team is dumb and people who do that make no sense to me.

But, put those same tanks on a breach and they are huge assets.

My friend and I tanked up to 8-12 EPs in non-cp for a short duration. He's on dps/offheals and I was testing out a heavy armor dps build (which sadly can't kill decent players).

You don't need to build a tank to get 15 people to chase you for 5 minutes and w damage you can probably get some kills along the way
