Appearance Tab

Please add an appearance tab to the character window that allows for equipping of all crafted/looted gear and cosmetics, without the stat bonuses, of course. We don't need gingerfication or a form of monetization for this that ESO can come up with. This worked in SWG and LOTRO, among others, I'm sure. It can work here. No need to add stuff to the crown store or pay gold to change appearance. Just a simple quality of life adjustment because it's the right thing to do.

    I'd hate that.

One of the things about ESO I really love is that people do -not- have an appearance tab seperate from their gear, and thus generally "look their armor", so to speak.

Of course, I dislike the costumes in combat as well, and wish all costumes would either unequip during combat, or even better, reduce your armor value to the costume appereance armor - meaning if you go for the telvannit robes, you only get light armor protection even when wearing full plate while the costume is active, and if you go for the wedding dress or dancers silks, you get no armor protection at all.

What we -do- need for our appereances is a transmogrification system, so we can finally have matching armor appereances no matter what sets we want...

What you describe has never bothered me. What is the concern you have about fighting someone in a wedding dress?

What's the point? Everyone knows all guys in this game are vampires wearing a bath towel or a bosmer leather mini skirt. Unless you're a fat orc then you wear a wedding dress.

I'm assuming you mean like a "Style tab"? Something any decent MMO should have? Because if so, I agree. It would be much preferable for leveling a new character than wearing some stupid costume to hide the hideous mismatched leveling gear. Also shouldn't be forced to wear specific gear for a set. I will never use the Necropotence set simply because it's argonian style. ~Pibb

As long as we get some sort of gear appearance change mechanic that isn't locked behind a paywall I don't really care how it works.

But personaly I'd vote for it to be a craftable item whith the only requirement for crafting it is style materials and knowing the motif. This would benefit ZoS because people would be more likley to buy motifs, it would benefit crafters since they can sell the xmog item and it would benefit people selling motifs since they would up in price.

How I imagine it working is:

Making it: A new tab is added to clothing, Blacksmithing and Woodworking called "restyle".

This tab would look similar to the craft tab but without the trait slot.

Just as when crafting gear you'd be able to select which gear slot you want to make a restyle item for and of which style. Then you just use the material required and it'll appear in your inventory.

    this item would be tradeable

Using it: once you have it in your inventory you can apply it similar to how you enchant or recharge an item

I like your idea, it would make the economy better becuase crafters could sell style sets
