Fighter Guild Last Quest Prismatic Weapon.... Should I wait till champion point 160 to complete?

Caseyladner
Hello everyone. I wanted to ask the question whether it would be worth waiting till champion point 160 to complete the last quest in the fighters guild. I have heard that the Prismatic weapon you get to pick at the end (Bow, Staff, One Handed, Two Handed Prismatic Weapon) is really good and wanted to know if I should wait till max cap to finish? Let me know what you think. Thank you

You will NEVER use this weapon unless you happen to have a dead non-set slot for it. Even then, there are other enchants that will do more damage than this to anything NOT undead/werewolf.

    I am CP 93.

Been playing for a month and have fallen in love with this game. If the weapon is worth waiting for I can hold out till CP 160... If there are better weapons specifically destruction staffs at CP 160 then there is no point in waiting but if it is one of the best staffs in the game then it would be no biggie to wait.

You can craft the prismatic enchantment. there isn't anything special about it.

It takes a ability slot to use it??? I definitely dont have any empty ability spots. I was just hoping for a bad ass destruction staff

There are much better weapon options from both crafted and dropped sets. There is no real reason to wait OP.

But if you do wait, the decision to use it then becomes yours and yours alone.
You are at cp93. You are close enough to 160 the wait isn't going to be that long.
It won't change if you wait.

Yep, the cosmetic and enchantment are re-craftable later, if that's what you want. You'll find that very soon after reaching endgame, you'll want your weapon to be part of a set peace, of which this questline weapon is not.

    This ^

If I could take the glyph instead of the weapon, I would. It does not come close to Maelstrom/Master Staff as a single set piece.

Back when the game launched it had a unique enchantment. When level scaling first got added to the guild missions, there were a few reasons to hold out for the V16 version of the weapon.

First, V16 gear used to be astonishingly rare. It was supposed to be a tier of items that you had to spend a lot of time grinding and rolling the dice for.

Second, the Enchantment used to be impossible to craft. This changed at the exact same moment the level cap went up to V16, before that you would have been looking at a lower level item anyway.

The set, itself, is craftible in the Earth Forge, and you can go back whenever you want once you've finished the FG. That's always been the case. The motif was originally impossible to craft, but was added fairly earl on (it's akaviri).

There for awhile, it was one of the easiest ways to get a, "free," V16/CR160 weapon. But, the whole, Yeah, we'll drop v15s when you hit cap, just to make you grind for your v16s got dropped ages ago, and just isn't part of the game anymore. So a lot of the incentive is gone.

It's still a cool looking weapon, especially in Rubidite. But it's not like you're passing up something really special by completing the quest early.

Yeah. I'm 100% with you OP in the appeal. Akaviri is my all-time favorite sword design, and always look for opportunities to wear one.

If you use a 3-piece jewelry set, a 5-piece armor set, and 2-piece monster set... you can use the Fighter's Guild weapon reward without any harm.

Because the only weapon that could replace it (with that armor setup) would be a Master Weapon or a Maelstrom weapon, both VERY difficult to get.
