I'm working on my main character a Sorc around CP 110. For a while enemies felt fine to face and then all of a sudden I'm having difficulty fighting even a small group of enemies or a single 'elite' (I think is the right term) on my own. Any ideas what I should be doing or any builds I should try?

Alcast has a great solo MagSorc build. Just google it - I use it and it is VERY solid for a build.

Lightning WoE. Preferable the blockade morph and heavy attack with the lightning staff while refreshing hardened ward to shield yourself from damage. Using the unstable familiar morph of the first pet also helps with AoE damage.

Kite the melee as needed and step out of anybranged cone shaped AoE. If a mele does a heavy attack then put block up.

When you job lvl 50 you became weaker. Gaining more CP will help as well. Remember, shield is your friend.

Well for starters, what level is your gear? If it's cp 10 or better yet, level 47, no wonder you're struggling, it gets scaled to cp 160 but scaling gets weaker as you outlevel it. You're close though, at cp 160 you'll finally be able to use gear without worrying about outleveling it ;)

For continuation, use food. Either blue health+magicka for your level(cp 100 is closest) or Witchmother's brew(max health+maxd magicka+mag regen, scales to your level so even better). If you're stamina, replace magicka food with stamina equivalent.

Next, use some armor set that at least vaguely fits your playstyle. Magicka costing skills scale with max magicka, spell dmg, spell crit and spell penetration(except shields which only scale with max magicka), stamina skills with max stamina, weapon damage, weapon crit and physical penetration. What this means is 1)you generally want to go only magicka or only stamina way, no hybrids 2)if you, say, go the magicka way then sets increasing weapon damage, weapon crit etc will be 100% useless for you, use something that increases max magicka, spell dmg, spell crit etc. Easily obtainable options are craftable sets, Julianos/Seducer both great options for magicka and Night Mother's Gaze/Hunding's I think good for stamina(at least I think they are, I don't do stamina).

Lastly, take a look at your skills. If you're magicka, you want to be using shields, either the class one(Daedric Ward from Daedric Summoning tree) or light armor one(Annulment). You also want to be using Surge for heals and damage buff(works for both mag and stam). This is basically all you need to survive. To kill things, easiest way is generally to drop some DoTs on them then use your spammable on them until DoTs expire, rinse and repeat. Magsorc DoTs are Liquid Lightning(sorc lightning tree) and Wall of Elements(destro staff), spammable can be Force Shock from destro staff tree or just lightning staff heavy(which also does AoE damage). For stamsorc, I don't know enough about their rotation(but there're plenty of builds online, Alcast's site linked above has both mag and stam sorc guides; while more end-game oriented they should give you the basic idea).

    Good luck ;)
