Look in your Collections, Costumes, you may have some unlocked already. Or you can buy them from the Crown Store. I don't think dresses per say drop in the Legerdemain containers, but I have seen a Corseted Shirt.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Lotsa weird people in this game, guys picking girl characters always gets me lul

this is late but I see this a lot so I figured I might give my two gold, as I am a man that has both genders of character in many a game over the years. and I wont use the "looking at a girls behind" reason either.

1st: only guys tend to find it a problem. I hang out with many a women who love the look of a "sexy [snip]!" (in game quote from a girlfriend of mine XD) and don't find it a problem

My ex called them "manginas" and automatically hated any guy playing a female character, in much the same way I automatically write off anyone with a pot reference in their name as an imbecile. I don't think she'd agree with you.

Who cares what gender or what clothes someone wears in a video game? In my mind it's all good, like the stones song goes, whatever gets you through the night. The only reason I could see someone caring or someone bothered by what another player chooses to do is because you are looking for some kind of more complex relationship from people in a video game, and that might be the loneliest and saddest subtext I have ever read into a post.

A bit difficult to start a relationship when you don't really know the sex of anyone playing the game? I see some nice honeys I'd like to get to know...but many are probably some guy's fantasy. And some female characters I'd run into the night to avoid.

I just play the game. I find the different characters interesting to say the least. Keeps the game varied.

If someone wants to dress their toon in an unusual way, that's their business. I'm not going to tell them they can't do it. I cringe when I see a male toon in obviously female clothes, but then again, I also cringe when I see super-bright dyes on armor, too. But that's their business if that's how they want their characters to look.

As for me, I don't cross-dress my characters, but I do have both male and female chars. I'm female, so most of my toons are female, too, and my two mains are female. It's just fun to be able to switch it up sometimes and play a male once in a while.

I bought the Balmora outfit for my male nord because it looks pretty nice on athletic body types, shows some skin without being shirtless, and the pants aren't loose or with low-crotch. In RPG's I tend to play as a male character that doesn't fit with the typical "hairy-alpha-macho on steroids" trope. In other words, I'd rather play as a Vega than a Zangief anytime.

Apparently, sexyness and cross-dressing is okay on a gal, but it's still a big issue on a guy. I heard several dudes ingame saying that the male redguard dance must be changed/removed because "it's disgusting", while praising the female bosmer or female dunmer ones.

I've been gaming since before PCs. In all that time I have always played a male toon. Always. That is until late last year when my daughter asked me why.

My answer was, because I'm a guy. The characters are extentions of myself so again, guy.

Later I was making a new character and thought that maybe I should try making a female toon. I did and it is no different than a male. It's not really me and to be honest, I'd much rather look at a woman's butt all day than a mans....

I'm wearing that holiday in balmory on my Khajit for giggles, quite fun tbh.

It has a very nice chest-hair window.

That costume is the best way to show off your chest hair!!!

That hurts my eyes. None of my characters would hang around. Too scary. Maybe much more hair on the chest would do it?

I don't really care. Put on what you want. I'm honestly more offended by those bright and shiny blinding colors on armor than I am about a male character in a dress.

I'm genuinely surprised by how many posters think it's weird to have characters that are a different gender than the player, or to dress your toons outside of gender norms. So what? I worry a little about anyone who applies real life societal expectations to character creations, or sees their game character as an extension of themselves.

I love that ESO costumes don't change for character gender. It would be sad if a costume were a dress on ladies and a suit on guys.

Because male Altmer look sublime in drag, and Khajiit is fancy and cares not for your gender norms.

You create the character that comes to mind at the time? Duh. People here seem to over think things far too much, that or they're a plain idiot like sigtric.

Most of my characters match my gender (F) but I also have three males, mostly because I felt the heavier armors fit the theme of them at creation. One I even designed as female, then hit the gender button and found it looked good the other way round so I went with that and kept it.

My duo partner plays characters opposite to their gender but then they mostly take their ideas from other things (shows/anime and so on). Never felt that was weird personally.

I have a feeling this is along the vibes of 'catfish' somehow and maybe thats why people get irate. At the end of the day, you have freedom of choice. So execute that accordingly.

Yea that's the usual excuse but it makes me ask the question, why were you staring at your male characters butt for hours on end. I'm usually looking past my character

The thing is... Most people does not "stare at the backside" of their characters... Most people play the game, as in combat, capisce? Another significant amount of people just stare at their character's ass, for sure, and then the other part just wonders... Why does some people stare at their chars butt? Another mystery for reddit, I suppose...

    Never really bought that excuse.

I´m female playing exclusively male toons. Toons I´m making as interesting (sometimes sexy, sometimes brutal) as possible. Because I look at my char A LOT. Maybe not their butt, but their physique in general. Because I find well-muscled bodies of both gender attractive.
This is my spare-time-activity and why should I gimp my visual experience by society´s expectations. :)

All 14 of my chars and every single TES one during the decades of play were males. Also, none were nor ever will be altmers, bosmers, redguards or bretons.

On the other hand, I have both male and female chars in Diablo 2/3, played a lot of games with female protagonists, etc. Just, for some reason, I can't play them in TES series or ESO.
