Hey, while we're at it, how about a stamina cost for crafting, using emotes, posting in chat, walking, breathing, eating, drinking, etc.? After all, all of these things require energy. And on that note, it makes no sense why a heavy attack would restore stamina... if anything, that should drastically reduce stamina. Let's just make it so that your character has a limited amount of stamina, and after doing too many things, your character has to go to sleep for 6 hours before you can play again. That would make this game so much more fun, wouldn't it?

Stamina cost for loading time. If it takes too long you are out of stamina when you log in.

I assume you're talking about PVP. People are always *****ing about PVP ****. Wahhh, some PVPer is exploiting XYZ to not get killed. Well no ****, Sherlock. It's PVP. People want to win, they don't want to die. And people will exploit any means necessary to keep from getting killed. What a revelation.

Now, outside of PVP... as a filthy console pleb, the button I use to interact with things is the same button I use to jump. Sometimes I try to interact with something (a node or an NPC, etc.) and I'm not pointing in exactly the right part of the screen. Duh, I was supposed to move the cursor 176 degrees to the left and 84 degrees up, not 177 degrees left and 85 degrees up. I missed the "sweet spot". So now instead of interacting with X like I meant to do, my character is now jumping like a freaking idiot.

Great comment, thank you! That's why the jumping without stamina cost - is vulnerability!

LOL... if they do that, I might have to consider crafting and selling stam pots as an alternative source of income.

OP, you can't just laugh at the sad little crack jumpers and then get on with your day?
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

If what you mean is, people jumping in PVP are trying to get away from you so that you can't kill them - yes, that's probably exactly what they're doing. Vulnerability? Yes. In my (very limited) PVP experience, when one player runs away from another, it's because they know they're about to get killed. I've been on both sides of that fence.

If you're arguing about disabling or limiting jumping for PVP, so that other players can't just bunny hop away when you're trying to PK them, I could support that. But this brings up an age old MMO topic: when things are tweaked / nerfed / buffed in order to balance PVP, without regard to how it will affect PVE. I think different rules should apply.

lol cost in stamina because people have a hard time fighting a moving target.

    Definitely a l2p issue
I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.

What??? Impossible. That would be lore breaking. People can only do stuff while standing up, obviously.

What we really need to know is if jumping does in fact make it more difficult to target someone because if it does that needs to be changed. Personally I love smacking those smug, hopping mag sorcs out of the air with invasion and then destroy them while they lay there like the squashed bugs that they are.

I disagree completely, this isn't just a PvP experience and would affect PvE gameplay potentially dramatically.
Maybe I wanna jump around this damn mountain like an antelope...hindering my stamina because I'm trying to jump a ledge 3 or 4 times in a row seems overkill.

But... I love jumping when using Reflective Scales, they look so much more powerful when hopping around

Seriously, they have to fix those damn tiny stones, wooden planks and stuff you cannot walk over. Even some stairs on keep walls and towers force you to jump over the first step sometimes. Yesterday I got stuck in Ash directly left of the maingate again, sliding down a one feet high stone in slow motion. Is this some kind of joke?

I propose stamina/magicka costs for using emotes and typing in chat. Why do PvP and PvE players need to manage resources while RP'ers can just do whatever they want? Unacceptable!

While they are at it they might as well make it cost gold to type in zone chat too, not just stamina and magicka. Similar to wayshrine hopping, the more often you do it the more costly it is. Why not, right? Might put an end to all the chat spam.

Having a gold cost to typing in zone is a brilliant idea!! I would support this in a heartbeat !!

    No.

If you see someone jumping they are more than likely just taunting you or trying to lead you somewhere to kill you away from the zerg (or both). Faster and easier than an emote. You must be new to PVP.

I always thought a small stamina cost for jumping would be a good idea.
I mean... sprinting costs stamina, so why not jumping? After all, it is kinda equally exhausting, right?
(and then an "athleticism" world skill line where you can spend skill points to lower that cost for those characters that want to compete in tamriel footraces...)

Of course, I'd also like to see a stamina cost for swimming... (with penalties for equipped armor of course, up to "sink like a stone" in full plate...)

And while we're at it... a small magica cost for summoning your mount!
And fast travel from your map, let that cost magica instead of gold!
And sure, why not also a small magica cost for setting up a siege engine without the help of a wagon train... and another to stow it again...

And any kind of cost for zone chat would be fun, and certainly cut down on the... messages of dubious value one can see there.

And then have more things like the silt striders in vvardenfell that fast travel to locations a bit off the track from wayshrines - for a gold cost!

      ...

Not that I think any of those would be all too likely to happen, because gamers will whine about it, though they'd appeal to immersion... not to mention, my vexation from pogo stick players.

Is a way of taunting and showing your skill, if a player is attacking and canceling at the same time while jumping it means he really knows how to play, same for the people who kill enemies and sheath their weapons after every kill (like me) it's a way of mocking the enemy and showing your big e pen, I like it people get mad and they realize they should avoid that zone.

Sometimes I call a zerg and sheath my weapons and jump, they come and they get wiped because it's a trap, PvP as a PvP veteran becomes PvE to be honest, everything is predictable.
