POV - way up high or down near eye level?

I am mainly a solo PVE player, but I do some grouping & group dungeons. For me it really beaks any immersion at all to have that nearly bird's eye view that I see so commonly. I come from FPS games, and while I don't use first person, I keep my view just a bit above my char and maybe 10-15 meters back.
I know if you're in some end-game group with fancy rotations and such you probably need to see everything, but for me sitting up in the cheap seats on the upper deck is no way to watch a game, or play one.
Anyone agree?

I've played both ways and would argue that it depends on how many mobs you are facing at once. Some might say that in boss fights you want 3rd person to see the red circles, but you can see them just as fine in 1st person. When facing many mobs at once though you probably want 3rd person in order to properly aim your aoes and make sure a mob behind you isn't forgotten.

I'm the same way so I know exactly how you feel.

I hate it when games force you to zoom the game way out so so can see the entire environment to avoid crap (Final Fantasy XIV does this, so does WoW). It breaks immersion for me too,. I would describe this as a strength of ESO though. Because - while yes - you can zoom out to an extent - it's isn't near as excessive or necessary as it is on other games which practically require you to to zoom so far out that your character appears tiny as if you were playing some kind of RTS game.

So I think this one thing the developers got right.

I would use more 1st person view, but I feel the camera is way too low! It's like I'm whatching the world on level of my characters chest o.O Anyone have the same?
