PvP Achievement kills and Midyear Mayhem question

I'm not a PvP player and I was fooling around some tonight to get into the swing of it, and I noticed that I only received one count toward the achievement "Wrath of the Whitestrake" (Defeat 50 opponents during Midyear Mayhem) and that was when I managed a revenge kill. Meanwhile however I had 4 templar kills count toward the daily quest, and several more small AP rewards. Why the discrepancy here? Also, if I were to join a group would the group's kills count for me?

The achievement only counts killing blows which is damage in the last fraction of a second of your opponents life.

The quests count kill assists from you or your group which is any damage dealt to the enemy between the last combat mode entrance of the enemy and his death.

To get the achievement you need to get the killing blow you can get kills for the bounty via group kills or by getting an assist in on the kill

Daily quests count every killed opponent you dealt damage. Achievement - only when you kill by yourself.

This is wrong...
I've taken the daily quest to kill 20 enemies... And if I'm in a group... I'll start gaining kills towards it even if I'm still at the home Base

If you sneeze in enemy direction - would it also count?

Most time not in group, didn't noticed.

So, it's basically '*** you healers' achievement?

Like, I spent two days in Cyro and still have zero kills in that achiev. Thought it was bugged. But apparently it's the killing blows(((( And how a healer is supposed to get it?

Battlegrounds are easier for this achievement than Cyro roaming. Even if you bad in PvP you can try to execute 1 or two players in match.

This. I'm a healer. Alsways have been, always will be. I can survive gankers and tanks, I can spam heals in the no-CP campaign.

Two days worth of pvp, closed the emperor circle, finished countless board quests, captured Scrolls = only 13 "kills".

This is worse than the plunder skulls tbh

Play battle grounds. Go for kills only. Profit.

I would have completed the Event in the first day, if that one achievement wasn't bugged. You can do it, too, even on a healer.

I finished off the kill achievement yesterday. As a healer it required being selfish..not healing as I should and i was quite relieved when it was over

not every1 is a temp. I have to rely on spamming Destro touch and hope for the best...

I can still get it but I will be a complete liability for my group until I am done with it and I will not have any fun doing it.

I don't get why people can't just alter their builds for the event. I altered mine because my Templar couldn't jab a hole in a wet paper bag before this event, never mind kill another player. Healing isn't getting you to your desired goal, so adapt both your build and play style? I mean, you can see you're not get any further forward, so why even persevere?

One word: Oils

Literally any build, any class, any skill level can get killing blows with them. Hell you could even splash out on a cheap set of random trait vicious death for some extra oomph.

I'm a healer, I got ALL my kbs in 2 days of play time. Lay down siege, fire ballista at their faces poor oils all over them. Even a full on healer should have at least one or 2 defensive attacks. I see a low health enemy, Javelin their face, whatever it takes. Adjust your build for one stinkin week if you want KBs lol!

Find a buddy in your guild on an opposing faction, both go to cyrodil in a secluded spot between two spawn points and trade kills.

People on Sotha Sil were so attached to their siege they didn't push in on a keep with 2 breaches. I get it, and I will do it, but it's hard for me to just sit back and siege when I can do so much more to help.

Siege is about the only way my support-and-heals main has been getting kills too. I've also experienced, somewhat counter-intuitively, that I've had better luck soloing than in a group - I presume because the rest of the mob isn't getting to the killing blow before I do.

Stop spamming breath for a little bit and either spam beam or spam siege.

Easy enough to get the achievement imo, or go into BG and do some killing, done it on stam builds and mag builds.

Just put dots on everyone and hope they don't purge. Then reapply the dot if they do. You get Soul Trap for free.

Less so if you're geared pretty much exclusively for healing (or tanking, I'd imagine), and have no execute. If there's going to be a "killing blow" achievement, there should be a healing/damage mitigation one too.

I've spent the past 3 days waffling between trying to be a good healer and/or hopping on siege for a few rounds. Almost 700K AP later, I still only have 6 kills despite blowing up quite a bit of other people's siege. Rather than keep that up I think I'm just going to farm a friend for the 50 and get back to playing the role I enjoy rather than try to earn the kills legit. -shrug-

I'm full Stamplar PvE tank (no Impenetrable traits), have only played PvP for two days (~4 hours each), and my achievement is currently sitting at 46/50 kills completed. I slotted a bow on one bar, grabbed the two poison bow skills (Snipe and the finisher), and Jesus-beam everyone. I'll complete it tonight probably.

What people don't understand is that those who choose to play medic or healer have a certain personality type. There are plenty of fake healers in this game, people who slotted one restoration staff skill just to skip group finder queues. Those of us who always play medic, who chose to be a support class from the start, it's a different mindset than the pew pew crowd.

Well, 4 days in Cyrodiil, 13 kills. 4 hours in Battlegrounds, 37 kills.
