Is ESO Fun?

The game is fun. It's very fun. Or else I wouldn't play. It's the only game I play right now. I usually will play one game at a time and mainly stick to MMOs, my single player game days are behind me.

That said, ESO is the worst performing product I've ever used. Period. In terms of performance, it is god awful. In terms of gameplay, it is great.

It's like if you buy an iPhone and it randomly shuts off, deletes your music, etc. That's what ESO is like. Great product but it doesn't work.

I find most aspects of the game to be fun; a few are not so fun. And a couple are like having a cactus shoved up your rectum...but the fun out weighs the rest.... most of the time.

Needs more options. At the moment I play because I feel like I have to, having invested so much time (since first beta to be exact). Even though the enjoyment has long worn off as I've done literally every activity the game has and on numerous characters. I play because there isn't anything better on offer at the moment that would warrant me ditching 3y+ worth of progress and money spent. When it does, I will leave and not look back, but for now I just persevere and soldier on.
Until the ZoS comes out with something truly new and innovative, it will remain being stale and boring to me.

I was "quitting" LoTRO for 2 years for exactly the same reasons.

Not as much as it should be (for me). It was fun when it was new and there was lots to do and learn. DLC's are beaten too quickly due to lack of content. RNG is the worst I've ever experienced. Every time something is fun, it gets nerfed. Developers can't seem to make up their minds about anything. At this point, I just play it in between other games to stay 'caught up'. For me now, it seems more like work than fun. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon because I believe they will get it right one day.

    Sometimes it's fun.

I've been thinking about this too, OP. Unable to play for a couple of weeks, I don't miss it as much as I'd expected to. Surprises me.

No. Not at anymore. Used to be fun. But now, meh, just login to have a break from my other game. But even doing that seems tiresome already. To be honest, I don't know why I still login-- old habit, I suppose.

It's okay. I continue to play because of the people I know.

I mainly enjoy PVP in ESO. I've enjoyed it much less since 2.3. The biggest reason is itemization. I would call most of the sets introduced/updated since then cheesy. I despise grinding instances which I've spent WAY too much time doing since 1T (2.6).

I dislike almost all of the changes intended to lower the ceiling and raise the floor such as heavy armor changes which brought back easy permablocking builds. Killing troll tanks is fun for one guy (the troll tank) and just a boring pain in the ass for everyone else.

Another floor raising, ceiling lowering change I hate are damage proc sets like Vipers and Selene. While there are very good players who use these sets, they can also make very mediocre players extremely effective.

I feel this game lacks the vision of great game designers and is constantly blowing in the changing winds of focus groups.

Not soo much anymore. Pvp is just 1 giant exploit. Constantly rerolling metta builds and abusing every exploit. Very little counter play and variety with builds. Add in lag, crashes and infinite load screens.

    Pve is just rng.

I used to have fun... But I also used to live.

Regarding ESO though? I've just done everything I can. Now all that's left is farming motifs I can't get (Buoyant armiger, doesn't exist, Silken Ring and Mazzatun, don't have SotH and never want to), doing pledges for dungeons I've run hundreds of times already, vMA (can't, won't do), vDSA (nobody to run it with/first time I did it was awful never really want to again got to last boss and failed), n/vHoF (nobody to run with and only attempted normal twice not even beating the first boss).

Honestly I'm kinda done with ESO. Not quitting. Just... taking a break.

ESO is fun when you first play it, in fact the most fun. Then it just goes down hill.

For me it's the massive amounts of in-game bugs that never get fixed and only get added to.

Huge fps and frame rate drops since morrowind.

Server instability and constant server drops.

Crown store garbage becoming more P2W and lore breaking. Seriously, *** the crownstore it's killing the game.

When you start eso you don't really notice these things, but by week 2 it's begins to break you down, and just continues to get worse.

Zenimax doesn't seem to care about your game experience, but at least they have your credit card number!

I enjoy pve immensely, but the current event going on has made the game a bit of a chore. I don't much enjoy pvp, and having a carrot on a stick to make me do pvp hasn't made the experience better.

i really have to wonder about a) this weird question and what it is trying to achieve... you should know yourself if you're having fun and not making it dependent on other peoples opinion and b). the people that chose "No it's no fun" - what are you doing here?? Why do you continue to play the game?

I would answer - if the choice was given - that it's become much LESS fun.

I used to obsess about this game, complain loudly about maintenance because it was reducing my gameplay (which always affected me, given my timezone), and look forward to the next instalment.
Now, however, since I've done all the questing on one character and have no desire whatsoever to redo any of it on the other 8 characters, since it's taken so much of my time to get where I am - including time spent farming gear - only to have it change with each update, coupled with the parlous state of the Australian internet that means I can't even reliably light attack -> so can't "git gud" -> meaning I'm pretty much locked out of end game content... then my answer is MEH.

Lately I've been logging in to train 4 characters' horses, doing writs on my main, and trying to get a few achievements done such as the DLC fishing. Occasionally I might solo a dungeon for a pledge or if my friends can't find anyone else online, they might just invite me to do the pledges on Vet. Or not. That's about it.
For PVP I have to really be in the mood for it, since I suck at it.

I'm not going to unsub; I'm not planning to quit just yet, but I am getting a bit bored.
