Problems:
-Premades are placed into the same games as pugs. Premades vs pugs is boring for both the premades AND the pugs.
-There is/are no competitive/ranked queues.
-Many players ignore the objectives and just go for kills in Domination and Capture the Relic.
-Queue times, while not particularly long (when they are not bugging out!), should not be made much longer.
Suggested Solutions:
-Too many specific queue options would lengthen the queues significantly, so we need to choose just A FEW queue options that satisfy as many people as possible.
-To address the premades vs pugs issue and the lack of competitive/ranked queues, I would suggest the following two queue options: Ranked Team Match (premade ranked 4s) and Unranked Solo/Duo. This would give us a competitive environment, while also giving us an option for casual play. If you wanted to play a few casual games with a friend, you could... but we would no longer see strong 3-4man groups demolishing casual pugs.
-To address the issue of players just going for kills in Domination and Capture the Relic, we need to be able to queue for specific game modes (e.g. Deathmatch) and/or significantly increase the rewards for winning matches (A few extra useless items is no incentive. Perhaps a large amount of bonus AP could work?).
-So how do we introduce specific game mode queues without increasing queue times?... Give us the option to queue for specific game modes, while also implementing a 'Random Game Mode' queue that rewards the winning team with a large amount of bonus AP. I say 'reward the winning team', as rewarding all teams with AP (regardless of win or loss) wouldn't dissuade players from queueing for Random Game Mode and just going for kills, when they should be queueing specifically for Deathmatch. I would anticipate that most players would then queue for either Deathmatch OR Random Game Mode. The few players who queued specifically for Domination or Capture the Relic would still get quite fast queues, as they'd be placed into the same games as the Random queuers (much like dungeon finder). I've heard many players agree that they wouldn't mind waiting in queue for a few extra minutes, if it meant that they would get into a Deathmatch.
-Ranked Team Match queue should place you into a random game mode (in my opinion), as there would be enough incentive to win regardless of game mode. i.e. There should not be ranked queues for specific game modes.
