Advise on My Sorc MalestormArena build.

Hello All,

I need a simple but effective build for vMSA with my Altmer Sorcerer. I find it that Illambris monster set does not do much for me, so please advise what you think on my current build and please give me suggestions on how it can be improved.

5 Gold pieces of the Necropotence set (belt, helm,2 gold rings and 1 gold amulet)
5 Gold pieces of the BSW set (boots, pants, armor, gauntlets + 1 Sharpened inferno staff on the back bar)
Front bar weapon: Sharpened MSA inferno staff.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that the 4k extra magicka is better than any monster helm set, and the last 5th piece of BSW is good for the back bar so that it can be used only for proc-ing the set bonus damage.

Also which pet should I have active at all times for the Necropotence set?

What are your recommendations?

Correction, with this build I can have 1 Molag Kena helm to complete the build.

Oh my goodness,

All this necro crap floating around. How silly do people wanna be. Not you. Just people in general.

I showed the community how a sorc with 23k magicka and 18k hp can flawless the arena in a little over an hour using julianos and valk skoria LOL.

But to get back to your question.

If you use necro you lose heals, you gain damage shield this isn't a good trade off.
If you use pets go for gold, but you can easily burst with this.

Julianos/llambris/IA

If you use necro set and set your sights on it, then unstable firm is what you want to use.

However I generally suggest the following:

Julainos/ia/sharpen gold staff trash + llambris

Force/crystal/power surge,bound agies, inner light - suppression field front
liquid, velicious curse, thunding, bound agies, wall of elementals - destro ulti (lightning back)

Honestly I don't understand why people continue to stress over pets, you can already mitigate all damage by using defense sigils in a timely manner.

Does my head in but meh, whatever people wanna do ^my 2 cents above.

If you are trying to clear vMA for the first time then a simple 5 julianos 2 ilambris 3 willpower will get the job done. With a proper rotation you can pull anywhere from 25-30k single target and have decent shield size. If you are just trying to find a build that will help you get a better score, or for farming then I would advise using 5 BSW 3 IA or Moondancer, 2 ilambris. Once you have done vMA a few times and have a feel for it you'll find out that damage (90%) of the time will trump shields in vMA so long as you have a decent grasp of the mechanics.

Are you going for your first clear or something? You said you have access to a Maelstrom inferno staff sharpened, so IDK.

Go lightning backbar with blockade and inferno staff front bar, make use of 75 thaumaturge for exploiter and lightning heavy attacks do a lot of dmg on top of huge resource returns.

If you don't want to use ilambris, use grothdarr. Keep your 5 piece necro, 2 grothdarr, and use moondancer jewelry or will power jewelry.

or like everyone said, use julianos instead of necro

Just use a pet build. Literally the easiest thing to do. Pretty boring though.

5 Julianos 5 necro 1 Molag kena
3 necro jewelry 2 body pieces
4 julianos body and both front and backbar staves.

This is what I use and it works well.
