Can you get to Firemoth as an existing character?

This one is for you ZOS_GinaBruno. Can you in fact travel to Firemoth Island as an existing character in order to do the quest series there?

Any character starting in Morrowind will have an opportunity to get an extra skill point, not game breaking I know, compared to those who don't if this isn't possible. Starting characters get one for finishing the quest series and checking in at Seyda Neen as well a completing the exit from Coldharbour.

The rest of us who started in Coldharbour would only get the one if there is no way to accomplish this. Just wondering since I hadn't tried this out during CB and I can't find any way there now. Even tried swimming with maximum health and regen with no luck.

    Existing characters go to firemoth as part of the seydna Neen quest. It is slightly different from the new character's experience and doesn't grant a skill point.

    It's been widely reported that new characters can have one more skill point than existing characters. It's a bit frustrating for completionists but hardly a big deal in game play terms.
    #1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

    P.s. back in the closed beta I spent ages trying to swim between firemoth and the mainland. I made it with and argonian and the game booted me out. When I reloaded I was back on the shore I started at, so I assumed the game had another way to stop you getting between zones.

    P.P.S if you want to tag someone in a post you need to use @ .

    It's probaby not necessary to tag Gina and Jessica as much as we do. I hate to think how many notifications they get from us.

    I tried that as well with my Argonian even going full health passives but got ate by Slaughter Fish and thanks, didn't realize that with the @.

    Sadly the skill point is gone for good if you're not a morrowind character. Sucks for people like me who are too poor for the 10k gold respec >.>

    Any ideas how I can get there to pick up a book that I missed? Am a huge completionist and it will bug me if I don't get it!

    Never mind, there is a boat to get there in Seyda Neen. I'm happy again!

    There is a quest in Seyda Neen where you have to go to a lighthouse. That's the quest that will let you go to Firemoth Island with an older character. It's hard to find the quest-giver, though. Start looking around the lighthouse and see if you can find someone with a quest marker there.
    *EDIT* I just went into the game to look. The quest-giver is named Deminah Salvi, and yes, she's standing near the lighthouse.

    ...also, you only get to explore the outside of firemoth island as existing character, not the inside of the slavers keep as I recall.

    Same with the Summerset intro - you can visit the "prison cell" an summerset character pops out of, but not the "mind trap" they have as their "tutorial"... and neither the skill point they get extra from there...

    It really makes me wish they would have done things a bit differently, but... eh.
    I especially would have loved it if they seamlessly let the new tutorials mesh into the coldharbour intro, with only an -option- for people to "escape and do that later", but that is mostly because it vexes me greatly to have the ability to respawn without the "Ooooo, vestige!" fluff to explain -why- one could come back from the dead... so I for one would have reversed things, and made the "go into coldharbour" the standard way, and the "no, do the new region first!" the optional path...
    ...not in the least because then, someday, they could have made more tutorials, and assigned them all race-specific. Like... play as dunmer, get the "Firemoth Island Shipwreck" tutorial, play as altmer, get the "Summerset Mind Trapped" tutorial, play as khajiit get whatever tutorial they are having for elsweyr, play as breton, get one tutorial, play as argonian, play another tutorial, etc.
    But that's me I guess.

    I also would have loved it if they just added the new tutoriuals as playables for -everyone-... like, no unlocking wayshrines, the first trip you take to Vvardenfell with your established character, you -have- to take a boat, and promptly get "shipwrecked" for the firemoth tutorial, breezing through it and grabbing that skill point, and when you follow the queens decree and go to summerset... you somehow wake up in a mind trap and have to run that tutorial, grabbing this skill point as well, etc. That way -every- character would get -every- tutorial and accompaning skill point...
    But hey, that's just me again.
