Surely there's an easier way to do IC?

OK, fine, there's a que. I get that. But, explain to me why I FINALLY get through the que....run across Cyrodil...zone into Imperial City....but wait, real life calls me away from the screen and of course I'm kicked for inactivity. Log back in and I'm back on the mainland and have to do it all over again.
Have I missed something, please tell me I have.

This hearkens back to the original concept, where Cyrodiil PvP objectives had to be captured in order for sewer entrances to open. Factions dominating the map could essentially lock other factions from accessing IC.
This did not sit well with some players who declared they should have access to IC anytime, regardless of other player's actions, and ZOZ conceded.

Bring back Axe of Belharza campaign, at least during the event!

yes, we should be able to port to IC directly. Why is there no option like that ZOS??

we can port to dungeons, we can port to another provinces, so why not directly into IC?

Sounds like a learn2queue issue
Clearly there is some you tube video out there which explains how to queue

this is an essential thing i think. IC is the best pvp real estate in the game potentially- i got the game after seeing these tight quarter 20v50 battles- without having to ride horses for 5 minute s too for a 30 second fight.
then it became a dead zone because of no incentives in the area- and difficult access -as the OP says. having direct access will bring it back to life.
atm its just people who dont want to pvp and want to farm bosses and telvar.

but during the event - tis totally inaccessible. the quees , the lag, the dc's. its just another unplayable event by ZOS.

seriously - anyone asks me- dont buy the game- we need to strike or something to get them to listen.

but then the lag would go due to no players and zos would probably take credit for it.

There should be four separate queues:

Dungeons
Battlegrounds
Cyrodiil
Imperial City

Break these down further and you could do:

Veteran Dungeons
Normal Dungeons

CP Battlegrounds
Non-CP Battlegrounds

CP Cyrodiil Campaigns
Non-CP Cyrodiil Campaigns

CP Imperial City
Non-CP Imperial City

Give people a nice variety. This is of course all AFTER the queue system is fixed completely.

I'm fine with IC being in the same queue, but I wish districts made an impact to overland, to encourage people to move in and out of IC more regularly and make it tactically important like keep buffs etc

This could just be coincidence but a few guild mates had the crown store open when they had to leave their computer for a while. None of them were kicked and one was gone for a couple of hours. This was out and about in Cyradiil and still doesn't help with getting to IC but maybe if you have to leave for a bit it will keep you there?
