Im not trolling- okay yes I am. But not really.
But this is ridiculous. 3+ years. and EVERY event- not the occasional- but EVERY event , EVERY update, EVERY patch - goes thru the same cycle- of crashes, DC's lagginess- just overwhelmingly poor performance not only at the best of times- but especially when anything is "updated", changed or patched.
I literally took the day off work with my buddies- went to a net cafe- with the intent of playing some pvp all day. Here we sit- unable to play - either dc'd or just too laggy.
they've switched over to LOL while I'm writing this. honestly - its embarrassing, unacceptable and plain sad. Can you imagine- if a company like Netflix, Facebook , EA sports- any digital entertainment company had performance issues like this? I pay as much for my ZOS account - as I do for NETFLIX.

do something about it guys. t they simply think this is okay- and something we go thru each time. that each patch "brings problems" and we work thru them. Its become the culture of the place.

his isn't a little company- this is a million dollar company under a billion dollar one- they have the resources but refuse to spend or refine or evaluate them-

its incredibly frustrating because at the same time- its the best game I've played in other ways. when it runs- its damn fun- i just wish they'd look after us better. treat the game and customers with more respect , care and investment. Invest properly in this game- and it could be bigger than WOW. I really have always felt that . the combat is great, the dungeons are great, you have a build up lore, devoted players, great community.

but IC, the RNG, the proc sets- all these things have taken months, years to fix- if at all- but the thing that has never improved has always been the performance. this is so annoying.

Yet people were still willing to buy the Morrowind expansion lmao
I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.

Like I wrote them a few months a ago. they should get rid of 2/3rds of their team and rehire a new team. Oh and hire some real programmers that Know how to make 500 people fight in one screen at once None of this Baloney where players were harvesting their skills and that's what caused the lag.

I forgot the name of the website, but it reviewed Zenimax. The review described the company as being littered with nepotism and unqualified employees being higher ranked than qualified ones

I thought that was what started the problems.

Lots hired, lots fired ...now working with a system literally generations of employees away from the peeps who created it.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    L2Internet maybe?

I think eso have some local issues, I'm playing just fine with a 4mb / 0.5mb internet.
Even in pvp during yesterday the worst that i had was a crash, but the ping was constant at 120 ms oh and i use WiFi from the pc.
But then there is people with fiber connection at more than 100 mb /50mb that complaint of lag and disconnections.

Yep they have a monster of a mmo but its getting squandered horribly. On top of that the obviouse making the crown store more milkier than it ever has been doesnt really help the hard feelings here.

They really just need to update their servers i think. Intense loading screens (4 just to get in the game) and low fps in some parts of towns like grathwood.

that is kind of what they did and one reason why we got some many issues.
the new programmers they hired have had a hard time getting into the code that old crew created.
lead dev's have even stated that they are afraid to touch parts of they game because they don't know how its coded.

Y'know, I used to give my old MMOs (LOTRO and WoW) a lot of flak for performance issues... But since switching back to ESO a year ago I've come to realize that lag and stuttering (even with good hardware) is just a standard fact of life in MMOs. Doesn't make it right, but it is what it is. I imagine that trying to keep an MMORPG stable and silky smooth is an insanely difficult, often thankless job.

Instead of raging about lag now, I try to make the most of it and switch to smaller team-based online games or single player games when things get too frustrating. I suggest you do the same.

if you "re-hire" a team then surely that means you are bringing back the same people

perhaps you would prefer them to "hire" new people :)

Just because they seem to have Zenimax themselves behind them, ZOS is a subsidy and 99.9% certain they do not have access to their resources, finances and board influence.

Facebook and Netflix are two completely different things..

EA games have had far worse disasters than this. IE Naval Strike on BF4 at launch...the definition of unplayable (fair enough they fixed it and communicated but it was actually UNPLAYABLE)

But did I read you went to a "net café" to play ESO? That may be the reason for said bad performance...

    ^this.

A corollary: You go to a coffee shop and order a "Large hazelnut 2 cream 1 sugar", you pay your $3. you get the coffee no cream. You go back to the counter ask for cream and you are told "we cant give you cream".

You go back the next day "large hazelnut 2 cream 1 sugar" you get the coffee no cream. You pay your $3. You go back to the counter ask for cream and are told "we cant give you cream"

    This goes on for weeks.

At what point is it your fault for expecting cream in your coffee from the shop who clearly either cant or wont provide it?

How much of this circumstance is your fault because you continued to pay for coffee without a reasonable expectation of getting what you wanted?

Follow the money, every one of these server issues will clear themselves up WITHIN A MONTH if they stop getting money.
