I am a ps4 player. I've played from eso console launch. Going into the game, I had no idea I would enjoy an MMO.

Fast forward a couple of years. I'm still here but I wish I had started on PC. As I look at getting a gaming computer, I can't help but toss out a final plea: make it possible to transfer your characters.

I know they've said no in the past. But the ps4 trial community is so very small now, it's hard to get a group. Destiny2 hasn't even come out yet and I am already feeling it's impact with their beta. I don't want to be done with the trial aspect of the game- it's what I enjoy. :(

I agree if they would open console to pc transfer i'd probably start playing far more than a little here and their. They could charge for it for all I care and make it a one way one time thing even and I would be fine.

This is currently not possible due to how the database is set up. They would have to completely redesign the database structure for this to happen, so if they are ever going to do it, it won't be any time soon.

This is it, basically my understanding is due to on PC someone can have the exact same toon names etc as you, so it's not a case of a straight carry over anymore. essentially they'd probably pull all your data and when they import it back in there would most likely be dupes and console specific values that do not pair up with PC values or more simply Console profile data does not map to PC profile data. I am doing a system transfer project at work at the moment and is far more basic than an entire video game, mapping any kind of data is a complete pig I assure you.

If ZOS were to do it, you'd have to charge something in the region of £200 per account and it would then still take a while, 1k transfer requests would probably take a good year at best unless you hire a ton of people to do it, then if mapping goes wrong and made live it could potentially be a 1 way street.

OP I necro'd my Day1 PC account a few months ago, besides CS purchases I have everything back just as it was near enough.

Additionally, It would be BETTER @ZOS_GinaBruno in light of this being a popular request / desire now, if we could submit via support to close our console accounts and have CS purchases transferred to our new / main PC accounts. I think this is a perfectly fair deal, even if you did place a moderate fee on this. For instance I CANNOT get back my Dro Martha Sence, Elk, Mind Shriven stuff to name a few at all. WTB CS Transfer. Proof of purchase is instant for you to find and you can close the console accounts outright so there is no duplication of goods.

    Send me them insightfuls.

Just start over. That's what my husband and I did, albeit begrudgingly. Then again, we were playing back in the age of Veteran Ranks and never got past VR 2 due to how horrendous the grind was. If you're CR 630 and have a bunch of stuff, I can see why you wouldn't want to start over. Especially if you got a rare mount from the crown crate BS. ~Pepper

You should just be grateful you are not part of the macro/CE meta platform!

I'd like to see them offer CP and crown store transfers.

So basically, you get a new account with the same CP level as your old account and all your crown store purchases unlocked. You'd need to remake all characters though and start them from scratch. Basically, support just creates a template account that mirrors your old one on the most basic level.

@TheMaster I gave it a shot and created an EU account on my ps4 to see if I could handle a do-over. I made it to level 6 and quickly just swapped back to NA. [With tears in my eyes Lol ]

I've tried to start fresh on the NA server but there is just so much stuff I've accumulated on the main server. Also the fact that I have to buy all the dlc's, Imperial ed. upgrade and any race any alliance again is not right especially on the same platform. These upgrades should count as a base game upgrade for your account.

I'm still puzzled that ZOS actually are allowed to do that. :|

The problem is likely a Sony/Microsoft one and I am sure if ZOS could make transfers happen, they would.

Imagine you are Sony, and you get a (random number) 10% cut of all Crown sales made on your platform plus you use your PS4 for other things and have PS Plus to play online, that's a lot of money!

Now, why would you let a company transfer users from your specific proprietary platform to another, where you get zero percent of their future revenue? It makes no business sense. They want to keep you on their platform as long as possible. This issue exists with other games such as Warframe, the developers (DE) said many times that they would allow transfers and the technology is there, it's purely a Sony issue with them saying no.

I would really suggest just starting over on PC. It will be worth it in the long run.

There have been a number of players who moved from console to PC and at doing fine. They do not seem to have an issue. Quickly got to high CP levels. Not suggesting Zos should or should not offer such a thing, but merely saying players that want to change to PC already do it.
