Does Elegant Lightning staff even exist?

Before I start farming, I just need check up on this.

I need an Elegant Lightning Staff for my Magsorc, but haven't seen any of them in guildstores (only seen flame staff) so I'm getting the feeling that they don't exist. Never gotten a drop as well when I farmed my Elegant gear a few months ago.

Do they exist? I feel like they should since every overland set drops in every weapon type (correct me if I'm wrong), so hopefully it's just another case of RNG rareness?

Thanks :)

Most people farming elegant gear are trying to get weapons for themselves. I'm in two trade guilds that have allowed me to get both a Frost staff (the named one from Estre) with Infused enchantment and a lightning staff (non-named) with infused enchantment.

The two trade guilds I'm in (where I also found Elegant Restoration Staff w/ Infused) are <Aldmeri Nation> and <Back Alley Trading> - make sure you hit our vendors in Mournhold or Wayrest, (shameless plug).

Elegant? Like a trait? If so elegant isn't a trait. You sure thats what you are looking for?

Disregard, you meant the Queens Elegance set huh? Yeah according to the wiki it drops a weapon of every type..

Yep they exist but are quite rare. The set isn't as useful as it was before the nerf to max Ultimate so anyone that wants one is usually farming for themselves and not to sell. I got all 3 of mine from the public dungeon if you're looking for a place to start farming

Yeah the set worked wonders with Overload, but this time I'm using it for a heavy attack sorcerer build. It's mainly for testing purposes, I know that Moondancer/Infall Aether is BiS for that Minor Slayer, but want to try out some other stuff too! :)

    Thanks though!

I"m currently using Torgun + Elegance. Just started playing it the other night. It' quirky, but your heavy attacks are no joke and when you're buffed and flip the switch to Overload bar you can't discount the impact of a 3rd bar and the additional damage the set provides at all.

I have yet to dummy test for PVE but Vet Dungeon's my damage seems to have gone up significantly in comparison to using random burning spell weave set thrown together with illambris and 3 willpower.

I actually just dusted off my elegant gear to revisit an overload build and have been loving it. I'd be interested in any other worthwhile applications of the set since I usually heavy attack sorc as well

Right now I'm running Torug's Pact w/ Infused Elegant Lightning Staff w/ Lightning Damage enchant. 3x Elegant Purple Spell Dmg Jewelry, 5 Piece Torug, 2 Piece Elegant, 1 Piece Molag Kena Helm. Back bar is Elegant Frost Staff (Infused) w/ Spell Dmg enchant for PVE or Restoration Staff w/ Spell Dmg Enchant (Infused). I like it a lot. I have almost no care for Magicka recovery as I'm getting it through Heavy Attacks that are nasty and Overload light attacks. Right now I don't have everything organized as I'd want it - I want to drop Thief Stone and switch to something else, potentially Penetration stone or the Steed stone in next patch, depending on PVE or PVP'ing.

But, my end game is to get the Wise Mage or Master Architect set and pair it with Elegant. Because of how Wise Mage 5th set bonus works with Overload I can use a different back bar weapon and run 5/4/1/1/2 and get a monster mask in there too (probably Molga Kena set). I see dirty DPS coming in the future.

I take that back, I doubt I'll be able to fit the monster mask in there as I want the 20% Heavy/ light attack damage bonus on both bars.

Don't farm overland gear. Farm gold and then buy it (it's way faster).

Here are the most recent listings on PC/NA (there are a ton).

I sadly already spent time farming the purple jewelry. How do you acquire gold jewelry by the way? Also, what do you suggest for farming that is faster and more efficient? I feel like if you're a crafter the benefit of overland farming is that you get plenty of deconstruct, mat pick-up, gear to sell, etc. etc.

I meant farm gold, as in the currency.

Farming mats is probably the fastest way. You can also farm nore popular overland gear sets and sell them so you can buy this one.

The best way to farm overland is to farm the public dungeon or chests. I prefer the former since you get XP and gold from mobs too. Just remember that loot drops go on an internal cooldown if you kill more than 3 bosses in a span of a few minutes, so find a rotation of 3 bosses.

Also note that Infused is going to be better than sharpened next patch so you can just pick up a cheap infused staff right now.

Nice that sounds pretty awesome. I've been playing around with 5 Netch/5 Elegant and 5 Necro/5 Elegant for vMA leaderboard runs. Netch worked great as the Kena and bonus lightning damage played very well with the boost to light/heavy attacks. Going to try the Necro one today to see how the larger magicka pool compares.

The only reason I don't use Netch is because Netch doesn't apply to Crystal Frags, with how often I cast Empowered Ward (for the 10% magicka recovery so I don't need extra health) I keep it on both bars and just spam the every living *** out of it. I want to try a heavy attack build with Necro that uses the DPS version of the twilight (I understand that heavy attacks direct the dps of your pet, so I would heavy attack and then light up the target by hitting the pet skill button to do additional damage to high health targets, I hate the little guy, dude bugs me).

Ahh that makes sense. I don't use frags these days in PvE since with Netch the Clench skill hits about as hard. I added the DPS twilight to my Necro+Elegant build for just the same reason you mentioned. I put the familiar on too but I suspect it'll be awesome either way.
