Why Only AP for Jewelry?

They have all the sets? Including dungeon ones?
That would be extremely interesting. And mostly for the dlc dungeons I'm not up to on veteran.

I rarely do PvP after returning, did plenty back at launch but guilds don't do events anymore but still its fair, its an PvP event after all, lots of people is too scared for PvP

Non dungeon gear is bind on equip so they will be sold in guild stores, that way I got gold necropotente.

Where do I sign up for this 'zerg' you folks frequently speak of? I just need the title on one character...

Quickest way to get AP is repair walls at every keep you come to, go to any keep where there is a fight and throw out as much AoE as you can whether it be damage or healing. Healing is the easiest.

I think you all missed the point. I get that it's a PVP event. Nothing against it, and I have attempted PVP. I suck at it, and will never get better since I don't follow meta, min/max, BiS, etc. But, since the Golden is a regular weekend vendor that normally has items for both AP and gold, it seems unusual to only have these items for AP during this time. The gold option should still be there. To the best of my knowledge, no PVE event has ever had an exclusive vendor, just various rewards and XP boosts. If there are any good zergs running in AD, sure, I'll pop in. I need vigor on one of my characters. Of course, I imagine the lag, queue times and server booting is going to be horrible.

I am liking the idea of the new PvP event.

ps:- as some above have said about the Jewelry been BOP this is not always the case some of it is BOE as I have seen before.

But with double AP nothing will be out of reach except getting into Cyrodiil those Ques are going to go through the roof.

Sorry but this is such a petty complaint. You willnever be a good player in pvp if you don't at least try. Let pvp players have a bone for once. Like if people have a bunch of money they won't do the event. The purpose of the event is PVP not PVE.

@kargen27 But one of the achievements I actually need the killing blow. Once I get the title I'll just farm AP for the rest of the Akaviri motifs I need though, so good tips!

Maybe they are going to make AP useful for buying something that isn't out now, and they want you to deplete your AP reserves on something they can create demand for today and make obsolete tomorrow. It's a common practice in mmos when they don't want to just introduce a new currency.

Lots of us just have millions of AP sitting around and enough gold to not bother selling it. If they don't deplete reserves then they might end up adding a new currency in the future again like tel-var.

If there are some rings you really want and you can't generate AP quickly, just buy them with gold from the guild vendors or from a player who will buy them for you. As long as you can farm gold efficiently that should work out for you.

Exactly. This is a PVP event, so it makes sense that you should only be able to use the currency gained during the event for the gold items. Since the currency of pvp is ap, it follows the logic train nicely. If it was a pve event as well I could see you making the argument for using gold, OP, but not for a pvp only event. All of the pvpers in Cyrodiil this next week are going to be making a lot of ap, which means a lot of ap spending on these jewelry pieces to upgrade gear sets.

You can go into Cyrodiil and type "LFG" in zone to get a pick-up group.

Yes, but during the PvP event there is an exception. I don't think anyone has missed the point your Reminding them of.

Also, I think the intention is to offer jewelry for PvP sets during that weekend.

You said it yourself you're just not good at PvP but I play an Argonian Stamina DOS Archer and made 100k AP just messing around killing time. Meta and min/max has nothing to do with gaining the AP you need 100k a day on a normal day with a 100% bonus event is all you need to get whatever you want.
