So here's my dilemma.
I have 12 characters and am almost finally done with the damnable horse feeding business. I purchased 4 extra slots in anticipation of the long promised spellcrafting and its nature themed spells. Those characters have great nature themed names.
Horse feeding is one of the main reasons I always stop playing and why it's taken me years to finish. Its only redeeming feature is that it's finite.
Then instead of delivering spellcrafting and nature themed spells, ZO resurrect the warden class. IMO ESO shouldn't have classes at all, but warden would definitely have been my class of choice had it been there at launch. The only thing I can do to make ESO seem more like the classless game it should be is to only play one of them. I have a character of every class just for the sake of it, but don't play them.
Deleting characters isn't an option. At most that would then leave me with 2 warden characters and I'd have to pay for those slots on top of buying Morrowind. Buy a whole extra account? BLEEP off! Crown store purchases are account bound and to replace everything I've bought would cost an insane amount of money and isn't even immediately possible. Courtesy of limited time sales and those items only ever being made available again in gamble boxes at some later time, I wouldn't be able to replace them until some unknown time in the future and at incredible expense.
This is why I didn't buy Morrowind and why I'm now looking at the warden class and wondering if I might be better off just pretending it doesn't exist. I have five characters of the class I currently play and in all the races I want. Most haven't been played beyond levelling them (and for some crafting) to 50 but it wouldn't take me long to get them enough skill points to make them decent.
I would definitely prefer to play warden. Love the nature theme and design. I'd be much happier playing ESO as one. But the cost.... That's why I'm now leaning towards just making do with my current class and hoping ZO eventually deliver on spellcrafting.
This post is as an FYI because ZO seem to have trouble understanding how some of their design decisions really kick the game in the balls. Also, I'm going to make a constructive suggestion.
Reincarnation : Give players the option to instead of deleting a character, restart them with their current name and appearance, but let them choose a different class. Let them keep horse feeding, motifs, trait research. Possibly also event achievements which can't otherwise be obtained again. But they otherwise start the game afresh with no character or crafting levels.
And if you like this idea and consider implementing it or something like it, consider not charging players for it. Sometimes you make more money by charging less for stuff. Eg. this option might make Morrowind more appealing and net you more sales.
