Learning Morag Tong style and knowing how to "Transmog"...why the difference

I noticed the other day that even though I can "Transmog" to Morag Tong style, my characters do not "know" the motif style...the achievement is not unlocked and any pages I find it says I can use them to learn the style.

Am I missing something, or is this one of those strange ZOS "works as intended" features?

The difference is that if you know the motif you can craft the style directly, and craft it for other people.

Any items for which you use "convert to [Imperial/Morag Tong]" to achieve that style become bound to your account, but as @MAEK said, crafted items of any style can be traded to other players. The built-in converters that came as bonuses for Imperial Edition and MW Collector's Edition do not count as learning the crafting motif.

The same holds true for writs - if you are tasked with creating an Impenetrable Imperial Sash and create an Impenetrable Kajiit Sash, but then convert it to Imperial style, it will end up being bound to you. It won't be tradable, nor will it count toward completion of the writ. :frowning:

thanks for the feedback...I had no idea about the writs...this would have caused me a problem had I got one like that

should be converters on all dropped sets and monster masks and shoulders, this way you can convert Velidreth onto a Minotaur helmet. Make it so Zos
