PvP Trolls and other Harassers

If "OP" is "offline" or has ignored the other person, and is trash talking them then why not make it so "OP" cannot whisper the targeted player? To prevent frustration and irritation within the ESO community.

I agree with you. I don't think you should be able to whisper if you are offline, or if you blocked someone.

Personally I would like to see it taken one step further. We shouldn't be allowed to whisper characters of other factions, if both us and they are in Cyrodiil at the time.

Although, there has been a lot less hate whispers since Thieves Guild was released than there were before. I think it's because now if someone is salty over a death they just log a character the same faction as you and call you out in zone chat.

Not sure I want something which stops me talking with friends just because we happen to play different factions in PvP.

If someone is sending you smack talk just ignore it. I know that's the cliche thing to say these days but really nothing upsets a troll or smack talker more than getting silence.

Don't even block them, just ignore it entirely and sit there pulling this face

that you've got under someone's skin enough they're wasting their time messaging you.

If they pass the point of some regular smack and head into threats and harassment, report them. For the love of Azura don't tell them that either, just get somewhere safe, report them for abuse/harassment, go back to your game.

I haven't gotten any on ESO but if I get hatemail on Xbox Live I always reply with 'I love you too' to every single message they send. They quickly get tired of it.

It'd definitely been on the increase, but yeah you just have to ignore it or do a dance emoji. Or go play elsewhere. Don't react

Are people so immature of mind they find it truly impossible to ignore hate mail/whispers? i get so many hate messages, most of them are about things they have done or want to do to my mother...., i mean, who cares? honestly why does it bother people so much hahaha, it's like T-Bag'n having it's own little thread, full of kids crying about other players crouching and un-crouching over their dead body... GROW UP haha.

there was one specific name in the t-bag thread that stood out, when i saw them in game a few days ago (same alliance) i t-bag'd right next to them, within seconds i had whisper saying 'what's your f***ing problem you stupid a** scrub' ..... mission accomplished. Moral of the story... for as long as you are willing to act like a child, then the childish things will always bother you.

Didn't have this problem much when people were only allowed to play for one alliance at a time btw. Now they get killed, come into whichever teams chat wiped them on a different character and just create a toxic environment.

I find it fun to answer back with mundane questions like "What type of caulk should I use on my bathtub?" Or if I find their insults particularly vulgarly funny, I ask them "If they French kiss their Mother's with that mouth?". That really sends them in a tizzy.

I tend to respond with random things like "ok i'll take six of the mint, and three of the chocolate" every time they send a whisper, they usually get angrier and angrier and mess up more and more in pvp, then eventually get so angry they rage quite.

I hardly ever hatewhisper, and always ignore hatewhispers sent to me. Always wondering why some people are so *** - they bother to type all these letters to actually whisper you (I have a pretty long name) to say something like 'i had sex with your mom' to never get a reply. Once I got a whisper in Greek language (didn't know it was Greek, my friend helped me to figure it out), that guy was also saying something about my mom (thanks, Google).

I like to tell people I'm on the same alliance as them and ask why they're messaging me continuing to insist that we're on the same team.

Then when they reply thinking they messaged the wrong person I call them a scrub noob and shut off my console.

I recently brought this up with eso support, due to the player being blocked, i could not see anything that the player wrote in chat, I got a private message from another player asking if I could see what they were typing as I had not commented and I was "taking it well" and I was like eh what? I can't see it.I did not get any private messages from them, I did not even think it was possible! wowzer, me thinks this needs to be looked at.
