BoL has (2) heal components - the full strength primary heal and reduced secondary heal
The description explicitly states only the primary heal is frontal cone arc.
The secondary heal has no restriction.
Ok, but then what sort of stupid nerf is this. It's still 360 degree heal basically, why even bother with the primary heal nerf.Pc na1 -

Because the other heal is only half the main one, so it is weaker, and while in pve it hits for 12k+ for me, in PvP, the reason the skill has been changed so much, it heals for half that, so it is harder to heal there.0 -

Whether it is a stupid nerf or not, I can't speak to. That's pretty relative to personal opinion.
Some ppl liked the change, some don't, some neutral. What I will say, however, is that the nerf is a reasonably significant change - because in the meta of 40-60k hp tanks, you are not going the 1 click heal from low to full health if not correctly facing the tank.
The secondary heal is ok for 16-18k dps and healer chars, but you no longer can ignore cone arc if using BoL to heal high hp tanks. You need the full strength primary portion that is restricted to cone arc.
So A huge nerf, no. But you no longer can be an idiot, stand opposite direction from tank, click BoL and with a crit heal bring them back to full.
In a way, it sets Templars apart just as Wardens have a huge all group aoe heal - in some scenarios the Templar BoL is nicer to have but only hits 2 targets - while in others like clustering in stack against a boss, the warden aoe 1 click place, 1 click trigger is better as it heals entire group, and 360 degrees within the stack circle.
BoL also used to be 1+2 players healed, now it is 1+1. So overall it is still a good heal, but far less powerful than it used to be.
Bottom line - if you object to BoL being 'too strong', fair enough. But good or bad, ZOS clearly designed some classes to be better at some roles than others. There are many viable tank builds, but while viable is ok, best in class endgame tanks are DKs. Just as for most content any class can be viable healer, but for best in class endgame it is Templar and Warden.
Personally I think BoL is in a good place. Useful, but can't be the only heal skill on your bar. It's not that OP.1 -
