Yeah I'm in a 4 trade guild collective with stores in the most popular spots (except Rawl'kha) and the worst they do is ask for raffle donations.

On what platform is this happening?

On PC/NA, I'm in guilds in Rawl'kha, Wayrest and Mournhold with (soft) minimum sales figures (not fees) in the 10-20K range.

I dropped out of the one that instituted a 75K sales/5K contribution minimum. (Not that they aren't worth it, but I could only spare three slots total for trading guilds.)

I'm sure it's 15k donation or X amount in sales.

Competitive trading guilds require you sell a lot (I know one Rawl'kha guild has a 400k/week sales requirement).

I think I know whom you're referencing...causing a hard decision...just from a merchant game perspective, I can maximize my profit from selling at two other guilds for around 7 to 10k a week and move the same amount of product or more..

paid my dues this weekend - still undecided what I'll do going forward...

I spent my first year of game play visiting atin in wayrest and dreaming of being able to be a part of that particular guild...

15K isn't that hard... but it does mean you don't have much profit (a few K a week)

However, none of my guilds have weekly dues but we also can't keep our guild trader and have to keep changing location everytime we lose it.

I've done 1 million+ a week more than a few times. It requires that you farm pretty much everyday though (like 1-2 hours per day). But it's definitely not easy to do all those sales in one guild due to having only 30 slots to sell items in (I have 3 trading guilds that I spread my wares between).

You can also do big flips. Like buy an item that's underpriced at 300k and sell for 400k. You don't necessarily need to make a profit of 400k, just that much in sales.

I definitely wouldn't do that to myself on a regular basis though (unless you REALLY love trading/farming). I like to actually play the game.

1 of the guilds I was previously in was asking 25k per week to be apart of their guild, and I proceeded with leaving with the quickness. Lmao. As is I was making more gold from zone chat, than I was from putting in the guild trader. So I figured it was an obvious decision to make. Either pay these fools, or keep making money without having to pay to make money. This is on PS4-NA, by the way.

That means they are not selling well.

a good trading guild already has the sales to get the spot.

I honestly believe it's these greedy GM's who are also stuffing a lot of the gold in their banks for themselves. Granted of course that the prices for guild traders a week in places like Mournhold and Elden Root are obnoxiously expensive, they make more than enough gold to pay for their spot. And plus, a lot of these guilds are at max capacity. So let's put that into proper perspective. 15k multiplied by 500 is 7.5M a week. That's just assuming that everyone pays their dues. That's not including: Sells that are made, donations, etc. It's ridiculous.

If someone wants to run their guild that way and finds players willing to subject themselves to that, that's their business. If it bothers you that much, start your own guild and don't buy from theirs.

I think some trading guild requirements and conduct are as crazy as Sheogorath, but to each his own.

Console's economy is horrible compared to pc. People charge double, triple and quadruple the amounts on xbox. Lots of shady business practices as well. Zos must approve......
I do agree that 15k is kind of ridiculous. Most charge around 7 to 10k. The fact that players cannot even even see what is in the guild bank is another frustrating thing. How can you tell if there is something you could use and ask for it? I pay my weekly dues, but quit donating items after looking at the history of who deposits items and who is constantly taking the most valuable items from the bank. Oh and the leaders taking money constantly for self use, not just for GT bidding. This goes on all the time.

And the stuff on PC is horrible compared to console: prices dropping like crazy, and sales going down every damn week, because everyone is farming.

That volume of gold to spend each week is very tiring to have to do. Makes it feel like a never ending debt. In saying that, I choose to stay in a few of the guilds with fees as the locations are worth the price to pay to be in. Like every young person in the get rich quick scene, I will just make a few more thousand then retire and get out of it all.

On ps4 NA you don't even want to know what some of them are dropping on traders. The competition is high and the alliances are few. I would never want to run a trading guild in this market. People are some backstabbers.

I have to leave one of my guilds now. It's 10k a week and they started berating people for trying to sell in the guild text chat. They even kicked 1 poor guy. They demanded he place the item in his trader. I hope it doesn't spread as a guild rule. I hate motif shopping in traders and prefer to purchase them via the text chat.... ugh.

While watching some bot farmers the other day, I began to wonder. What if anything is stopping the bot/gold sellers from starting several trade guilds on their accounts, fill them with all the farm bots then some players to make it look legit? Who actually runs some of the elite trade guilds? The gold would be endless and guarantee the prime trade slots. Potentially giving them the ability to control the market. Are there really that many players constantly farming just to make outrageous guild quotas?

Really wish they would just scrap the guild trading altogether and do a regular MMO player market where you can just go to the designated NPC, search for exactly what the hell you want, and see any products being sold on the network. The way they do it is unnecessarily complicated and completely inferior to all other player-based markets in the MMO genre.

I run a guild and we don't have any minimum requirements - but we also don't have a top trading location - I am curious to know where those of you complaining think money to pay for a trader bid actually comes from, and who do you think should pay for it?

I think taxes that the guilds get from sales are actually a lot less than you think, yet somehow the trader still needs to get paid for, and in some cases that costs MILLIONS of gold every week. Is that supposed to be conjured up magically, or should people using the trading facilities to make money put something towards it?

Just seriously curious as to whether people think trading guild GMs just pull millions of gold out of their backsides every week to pay for the traders that you all make money from :D
