I think there should be an auction house, without one there is no real way to create an economy in this game. There needs to be checks and balances and the way that is done is based on many players posting items for sale with a price lower than the next guy who has the same item for sale. This will create a baseline for item value. Furthermore, an auction house can consume many hours in and of itself giving player the ability to do something different in game and just browse items if they wanted to. An auction house is good because it gives players something to strive for when they see items that are unobtainable at their current level hence providing incentive and addiction thus keeping players returning. My biggest point perhaps is that farming is considered a (mini-game) for mmo fans. We want to post our stacks on an auction house and collect gold. Gives us something to do in between big events or to just relax and farm and admire the beautifully created game. Some people just like being filthy rich by farming endlessly and are true auctioneers! Please add this element to the game. Its hurting eso without one.

While your opinion is shared with the vast majority of forum activists, it's never going to happen, time to protest for something that there is a chance for... like more emotes or scandalous attire for your characters.4 -

What they could do is add auctioneer's to each zone and pool all info from that zone from all the guilds into that auctioneer also allowing others to place like 10 items per week or so without trading guilds just to get in on the game.7 -

Dead horse has been beaten for four years. Grass is always greener, people just need to enjoy that we even have any kind of world trader, it used to be inhouse guild store only.3 -

The guild vendors add a check and balance an auction house never could. Tougher to control the market if there are multiple sources to get the goods. A one stop and shop place would lead to price increases not decreases. A few players working together could easily manipulate the market.
Auction house consume many hours? That is the number one biggest complaint about vendors is the amount of time it takes to find an item. Adding a intuitive search inside each vendor would help with that though. There are players that think one of the most fun parts of the game is going from vendor to vendor looking for bargains so they can flip the items for a profit. Can't do that with an auction house.
When a player sees an item in a guild vendor that is beyond their price range if it is an item they want they will have incentive to find the means to get one. An auction house isn't going to provide any more incentive in this area than the vendors do.
You are correct about the mini game farming and there is nothing preventing that now. You don't need an auction house to sell your farmed items. The game isn't hurting because there is no auction house. The current vendor system could be improved upon but replacing it with an auction house would be a big mistake. Common items would sell for less and rare item prices would skyrocket. The gap between the have and have nots would increase significantly.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."6 -

They have said many, MANY things in ESO Live that they wouldn't do and have done. Crown Crates being one of them, B2P being one of them, etc.
Can't blame people for continuing to try and get a better system than the one that we currently have.14 -

✭I would prefer a search option when looking for a specific item in a guild trader, but never an auction house. I could only imagine the bloated prices and limited inventory because everyone can find that item instantly. I prefer looking through a few guild traders for the lowest prices and hopefully being the one to grab it first.we cant even inspect each others gear
I hope that never happens.

✭✭✭✭✭Based on this and your other threads, you are either a dedicated (if unimaginative) troll, or you have a deep desire to make ESO just like other games.
I like most of the ways that ESO chooses to differentiate themselves from mmo generica - the guild stores instead of auction house, the lack of player inspection, the decision (so far) not to put advantage-giving weapons and gear in the cash shop.

In games that have auction halls, you can get one rich guy to come in and buy out X item, then monopolize the market and set his own prices. You can't do that with this system so a Ring of x may be 50k in one store, and 40k in another. So, if you're smart, you can buy low, sell high...and also find the gear and items you want for cheaper elsewhere. Just takes a bit of digging.Yes, I do heartily repent. Except the current system has a more realistic economy. Look at the internet.
Current system is a bigger time investment with a better outcome for time spent. See above for outcome
Baseline for value is caused in AH systems by the handful of players that monopolize the system. Decent for sellers, a nightmare for buyers
