Do you think console players have a harder time doing just as much DPS as PC players?

Curious. as a ~385 Stamblade I hit about 32K DPs or so on a dummy. I only have 2 Fang and Hundings as my gear. No vMA Bow and Velidreth Set.

Great traits on mostly everything, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot go above 32K. I have read and talked to some other people that say I should be around 37 - 39K. Not gonna happen. I'm sure my rotation isn't always perfect, but after practicing a lot, I think it is solid.

However, I play on Xbox so I wonder how much of these differences are because of the use and utility that PC players get. Addons macros, etc. Also let's face it, it is like playing a slideshow in trials with how much the FPS drops, so I know PC has a clear advantage there.

Not knocking anyone, just curious other's thoughts. I AM NOT KNOCKING PC PLAYERS. I actually have the game on PC but my friends all play on Xbox so.. here I am. I'm just simply wondering if because of certain limitations, console players may have it a little harder. Also I am well aware 40k + DPS exists on consoles... it is just that I can't hit that with my current setup and CP it seems.

Is it harder to reach high DPS on console yes because we don't have addons and buff timers similar to what PC had for such a long time it took us longer to reach Higher DPS such as the 40-50k+ mark.

A VMA sharp Bow will help a lot with your DPS. Keep working on your rotation and weaving and you will get 40k in now time. Your close as it is now just keep practicing. I know some CP 600+ he can barely do 20k.

Yes. Buff timers that don't even show endless volley... the most important one.

32k at 389 CP is GREAT!

A VMA bow will yield a definite increase. A solid melee monster set like Kraugh or Velidreth will also yield an increase if combined properly with the sets you already run.

I know many players that cannot reach 30k at 600+ CP. Perfecting a rotation will yield better results but in actual combat you are not going to be doing that perfect rotation that results in the highest end output. However you WILL get other buffs from the group.

Yeah, but I'm not talking about the controller Vs Keyboard/Mouse.

I'm talking about the stability, addons, macros, etc.

If you use the 1-5 keys i think an controller would work better, I use an naga mmo mouse.

Main benefit of pc is addon, ActionDurationReminder shows countdown on over time effects.
CombatMetrics is very nice it give you dps information live, log and statistic.

It very nice to see how thigh your rotation is and also to break down effects.
And you don't have to kill an 3M hp dummy to get the dps making it far easier to test setups.
Grinding just make you go in circles.

Buff timers but no timers for ground casted AoEs as those aren't buffs. Timing has to be worked out the old fashioned way.

It's harder cause of the constant drop in FPS(PVP at least), you won't find out if your skill went off untill the frames steady out.

Dude PC players don't use macros, not sure why everyone says they do.

Only benefit they have is better timers, but the top console players are doing just as well as the top keyboard players. Sure they have it "harder", but once you get over the timing barrier plenty of people are at the 50k+ single target. Those who say "console players are better players" are pretty wrong...I say its a bit harder but when you are at the top you are at the top. A top PC player is equivalent to top console players. Sure PC scores are always higher so you could say PC is better but I think it's because consoles are having frame rate issues compared to PC. Along with a few other factors.

With an rotation you can use it as an pointer, I use shards to show then combat prayer times out as it don't show up in ActionDurationReminder.
And yes if fight moves it reset ground based effects.

No, if you are on PS4 EU you can see some scores are higher than on PC EU.

It's easier on PC but you can achieve that speed by just being skilled, I know it sucks when you see those no skill on PC using add-ons to tell them when to block, roll, heal, bash, change zone, ect..

If console had add-ons I don't know what will happen to be honest, from a PvP aspect I really wonder why PS4 players are so tryhards and competitive? On PC everyone chill and try to be casual and in PvP guilds don't even hate each other that much, in PS4 there's drama everyday, exposing videos every 2h, e-pen tournaments for millions of gold every week, and guilds hates each other so much that they pay people to spy.

Sometimes I miss playing on PC, PvP was so enjoyable

Yes it's somewhat easier on PC due to less lag, graphical slowdown and add ons, but it's mostly about skill.

Look at @IzakiBrotherSs - one of the best stam NB on console (Xbox EU), and he matches top PC players DPS.

You can definitely get just as high DPS on console. In raid, it might be a little more difficult because of lag but it shouldn't be that much harder. With the upcoming patch removing all other players animations it might become easier as well.

But I can imagine the already not so difficult trials being that much easier with more than 5fps and and addons telling you exactly when to do what. I legit heard a streamer tell his guildmates not to worry about learning a particular mechanics timing because they'll have raid notifier for that...

I play on PC and I have played the game with a controller. I gotta say, after getting used to the controller, I find the game being played more efficient using mouse and keyboard, simply because aiming is better. I know we are not playing the sniper role in a First Person Shooter, but some skills require some degree of aiming. While it's not that difficult to have perfect positioning with a controller, you can position your skills faster with mouse.

yeah.... its pretty annoying being a MDK and throwing eruption behind the boss or slightly to the right as I'm running up and trying to dodge things lol.

To stay on topic tho... The only factor i would say that affects DPS console vs PC is the lag... The console server has had so much weird lag recently - with bar swaps, animations getting stuck, and flat out lock ups for a few seconds at a time - that it is nearly impossible to get a parse in without issues. I cant tell you how many times I've been rolling through my DK rotation and then get horrible lag out of nowhere that junks up the whole end half of the parse.

The graphical lags are something else entirely.. It seems that anything lightning related just drops frames like no tomorrow. Its super frustrating.

BUt 32k on a CP400~ is really good! Especially without a vMA bow.. vMA weapons help so much; my magDK is still struggling to get past 38k DPS, but i also dont have a vMA inferno for the extra LA dmg.. I wouldn't worry too much about your DPS parse with a 32k - will only go up with the more CP for your blue trees.

No. You have just as many skill buttons on a controller as you do on a keyboard. I know...I play with a controller on the PC. The ONLY downside a controller has over mouse and keyboard in gameplay is camera speed...which is significantly slower on a controller. However, that wont make ANY difference on a target dummy. I personally find it makes no real difference in PvE at all...where it does make a huge difference is PvP with those stupid templars always running around you in circle using jabs.

If you don't count bad trial fps on console compared to PC -which is a dps loss and there's nothing you can do to it- it's a bit L2 rotation issue.

Combat metrics can help a lot by showing a breakdown of your specific damage. The results from the damage report help determine if timing is off, and it tells the breakdown of DOT/Crit/LA/HA/Direct Damage. I like it because it gives me an idea of how many points I should spend on CP trees.

Here's a thought: A stamblade without a VMA bow is doing much less DOT DPS than all other Stam builds, maybe following the meta CP distribution isn't optimized in your case. Perhaps you need more points into Master At Arms?
