https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhKwJ3hQDxcHonestly that just sounds terrible to me, doing the game so many times over managing lots of toons etc. that's a whole other level of gaming, that's extreme.
It's actually quite the opposite in my opinion. Once you get your characters past level 50 it is so refreshing being able to pick and choose which one you want to play knowing that your progress on any of them is shared on all of them. If I am in the mood to play my stam warden; I play him. Getting tired of playing my magsorc, it's cool, I'll go play my stamsorc for a bit. If I get tired of the faster play style of my stamsorc then I'll switch it up and go play my magDK for a bit. Feeling like some PvP, I'll get on my stamblade. Get tired of PvP, I'll jump on my magplar.
Options are never bad, and can make the game refreshing at times. The only real commitment you need to make is the initial grind to CP rank which can be had in a couple days, a few hours a day with pots/scrolls.
My plan was to Tank or Heal my way till about 500cp where I would switch to DPS and not be a hindrance to teammates .
The more cp I get though I'm starting feel this character will never be great at anything other than heal when that isn't my plan, sure it can tank ok and dps ok but feel like something is missing.
Playing as a Breton atm with 200cp and considering switching to a khajit with the night blade class where I can tank my way to high level then DPS, how much percentage of an improvement if any would that make?
Honestly that just sounds terrible to me, doing the game so many times over managing lots of toons etc. that's a whole other level of gaming, that's extreme.

I hear you man, this seems what most say, oh you have cp already it's not that much a grind but skill points are a massive grind, the way some of you go on about how easy it is to get to 50 and have a usable character you'd think all you did was sit in a public dungeon a day or two and boom! When in reality it is nothing like that.

I dont get it why do you have to tank your way to 500cp before you dps?
I know cp200 who do 20k dps easy and to me thats enough to pair up with ny 25-35k dps.
Just use the right set with right abilities and right rotation and your dps will be fine.Honestly that just sounds terrible to me, doing the game so many times over managing lots of toons etc. that's a whole other level of gaming, that's extreme.

I leveled a stam warden and magicka warden to level 50 a week after morrowind came out. Took me about 2-3 days each toon. Leveling is so easy in this game especially if you do skyreach runs

I myself have managed to land a couple Infallibe Aether rings, but no luck with a necklace.
But back to the point, I'm in your boat, I usually ever default to Healer with my MagPlar cause I don't want to take up a DPS spot that I know a MUCH better player could fill, but I think I'm getting close. Apply DoTs like Vampire's Bane and Elemental Wall, then just Jab to your heart's content with Sweeps, and make sure you have ample CP put into Thaumaturge so the damage for all that is increased. Personally I also have a 2pc Grothdarr for that extra AoE flame damage. Normal overworld mobs just MELT but Dungeon enemies are a different story.
If it was easy then id see more people with 40k magplar parses and thats not the case. Also currently the magplar BiS is 3 gold moondancer jewelry and 2 sharp swords. Not easy to obtain at all
Seems like your saying there's only like one setup for a magplar to compete with nightblade when it comes to dps and honestly, that just sounds boring.
META is boring. Welcome to an MMORPG
I'll second this but I will add it's mainly this MMO. In 20 years of MMO this is probably one of the only where created add-ons have enabled players to see every ounce of DPS and I've played almost all of them. I don't ever remember kicking players from groups in EQ, Daoc, WoW, War, or Lotro. So now out of 150 armor sets (just an exaggerated guess) each class has about 2-3 choices of sets depending on what you choose to do (DPS, Heal, Tank). Everyone really should get an email when you create a new class that shows you your one and only correct rotation list for uber dps. That way groups don't drop you because their carrying you. Yeah..it's that great..
