Just lost three new Vvardenfell paintings, thanks Zos

So I was out stealing on my main which had 3 Vvardenfell paintings. Velothi painting, modest Volcano, Velothi painting, modest Geyser and a third which was a tapesty but forgot the name of that one. So around 8:30am uk time I had a bounty of 92 gold was in Vivec city and I crashed as a guard came up to me. I could've used clemency on the guard, ran away and used an invisibility potion or jumped into the water and laughed at them trying to get me but no, I crashed which was the games fault not mine.

Zos check my character data anytime before 8:30 an you will see what I had on me. I find unfair that I lost these items as you didn't fix the launder bug as quickly as possible and Vivec city is so unstable on xbox one. Can I get those items back as it was out of my hands and things that could've been prevented on your side?

I can't honestly tell you how long these took to acquire and keep safe which I have done since my first post on the forum.

That sucks so hard. Even when you crash your character still exists in the world for a short while, so i assume out of your control the timer ended and the guard attacked your idle body and took your stuff. Thats a bit of a problem..

I would add that you should get both TG and DB skill-lines maxed out and fully pointed as your bounty goes down double quick and you get help with getting away from guards.

But there's no passive that says "when you crash, all your heat is removed" -- though that one would get exploited pretty quickly :P

I remember all those times I looted sharp vMA staves and dashboarded and they never appeared in my inventory when I reloaded

I have every guild skill line maxed, but that is useless when you crash as a guard comes towards you and you have 10 seconds to comply

Sadly I doubt you'll receive anything from ZOS.

You'll probably find the fact you had a bounty, something you control, will work against you.

Having a bounty and dying whilst escaping is very different from having a bounty and dying because the game crashes.

In any case I hope you get the paintings back.

As I have said it crashed on me as a guard came up to me and crashed before I could use clemency which I still had so it wouldn't have been a problem if Vivec city wasn't so unstable and if I could launder them trust me they would be hanging up in my house right now.

If you want ZOS to fix it you're better off contacting them directly via a Support ticket. It's highly unlikely they'll see a forum post on a saturday morning, especially when it's the middle of the night their time.

If you send a ticket into Support they'll see it (regardless of time) because it goes to them directly. Whereas posting on the forum relies on this topic not getting buried before someone from ZOS sees it, which is unlikely when it's probably going to be 2 days before they come online.

(I know you tagged Gina but that's unlikely to help either because she gets tagged in thousands of posts per day.)

You will almost certainly get an automated response from Support with some nonsense about how to fix a totally unrelated problem - you need to reply to that email (do not open a new ticket) and explain why that response doesn't help. After that it should be seen by a real person.

Ouch. Are paintings you find in lockboxes still impossible to launder? Thought they supposedly fixed that.

They can be laundered in PTS and the update 15 when that comes out with the next DLC which is a while yet for us console players.

You're probably screwed, but I know your pain.

Once I got frozen as if still in dialogue without any way of existing while a guard beat me mercilessly.

Not your fault that you crashed, of course, but what were you doing with 3 expensive stolen items on you? As soon as you stole expensive rare stuff, you just launder it, quickly. Otherwise, it's like earning a lot of money in the casino and still keep playing.

I'd be utterly fuming if that were me - I've had crashes at inconvenient times, and logged back in to a dead character a few times, but to lose that stuff due to a crash is not at all nice

You're still unable to launder the new paintings until the next major update. I have a fourth (and last) painting on another character and I'm still unable to launder it.
