Maintenance for the week of May 18:

· [COMPLETE] EU megaservers for maintenance – May 18, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 13:00 UTC (9:00AM EDT)
We are currently investigating issues some players are having on the North American megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Disappointingly little has been done with Vampires and Werewolves.

I find that odd, considering 90% of the game's player population seems to consist of one of the two. I can't imagine that any long time player doesn't have at least one vampire or werewolf alt. Yet once you're finished with the "initiation" quest, that's it. In fact, only once has an NPC ever acknowledged my character's affliction. That indiscriminate Dunmer vampire hunter that conveniently becomes discriminate and chooses not to kill you. Not even sure about werewolves. I just think it's a waste. Why not do a DLC where a clan of vampires and pack of werewolves are at odds with each other? Maybe because of their respective Daedric Princes. Obviously Molag Bal is out of the question for vampires, but Clavicus Vile also had scores of vampiric worshippers in Morrowind. I've come back to the game after a long break and I like some of what I've seen. I just don't get why the developers seem to be ignoring this huge area of potential in favor of much less interest content (Orsimer was just plain boring imo).

Does Morrowind do anything at all with vampires or werewolves? As in, at least doesn't just completely ignore the fact your character is one? I just got it and I'd like to check out any additional content featuring them.

Yeah, there are a few systems in ESO that seem to have been abandoned after initial release...Werewolves and Vampires are one, and Dark Anchors are the other. I was really hoping for something more significant out of dark anchors, but while world bosses got a decent pass with one tamriel, seems like dark anchors have just become farm-fest facerolls. I was really hoping to see dark anchors have a more significant effect on the world in addition to being a little harder - certainly wouldn't mind a werewolf/vampire dlc (or "chapter" or whatever they're calling the pay-for dlc's now) that not only had you interact with both "factions", but possibly changed your story perspective based on which skill line you currently possessed...something like that

I agree that future content involving these factions would be most welcome.

I'd hope that in the event of a DLC, they'd completely overhaul both vampires and werewolves into forces to be reckoned with both competitively and visually instead of just a novelty. Maybe give vampires actual fangs and the option for a vampire-exclusive "mortal mask" disguise that would give them their normal skin, but with the usual vampire eyes to keep the vampiric aura. Werewolves are puny and unintimidating. I'd hope they get bigger in the form and get golden wolf eyes outside of the form that glow at night. I'd hope both would get a new "guild" skill line for those extra abilities.

But then of course, you'd also have to have a faction of vampire and werewolf hunters for non-vampire/werewolf characters. Maybe a joint coalition of the Dawnguard and Silver Hand.

This is my issue with vampires and elderscrolls not just with ZoS but they keep dumbing them down. Look at oblovion. You felt like you were playing a vampire. You couldnt fly but, you could leap over tall buildings etc. Then skyrim and they pooed the bed on them. No more high jumping or anything like that, aside from abilities you would never feel like you were actually playing one. Same thing with werewolves, they need to make it feel like one all abilities and passives aside. I want some damn fall damage when my vamp lands!!! This cannot be underplayed it has to be done right and feel like a vamp, not some diseased hobo on a pogo stick.

I still can't believe vampires only have two abilities, when werewolves have all five! So unfair.

The two should not be compared, people always do that though. You are right though. Mind you I only play with my vamp abilities because anything more then half a bar just messes me up.

Well as a werewolf you can only access those skills while transformed and then you lose all your other abilities right with it. As a vampire you can still use any other skill and weapon since you are always "transformed". It is a tradeoff so you really can't compare both "creatures of the night" here.

WW being "useless", well i can't really agree with that. From a pure endgame-min-max-DPS-meter point of view....sure they are not the best. But WW are fun to play regardless. Sure, a buff or adding some other cool features would be really nice. Change of fur patterns for example. Or let your characters tatoo/fur remain while in WW form. There would be some nice options here...
Same vor vampire. My Khajiiti-Templar is a vamp too, just because I am fond of being "non-meta" and doing something different. I really loved the Stage 4 abilities while doing DB and Thieves Guild....really comes in handy. Never even use the active skills on her....haha.

I view a werewolf as a poor mans overload and I know it is stam based and you still have fun etc with it but, thats all I see when I look at it.

Well, little has been done to prevent selling vampire and werewolf bites. I am not sure if you guys remember, when the game first launched, they were camping the spots where Vampire would likely appear and asked for gold.

Very few selected people should have been Vampires/Warewolves. You should have deserved being one or being selected to get the chance to be one.

Why investing time into something that is completely pointless now?

I'd gladly trade 3 of my abilities for passives that improve both resource regen without having to slot my ultimate and also a damage negation passive.

Well considering most of the vampires are not vampires because of the enjoyment of and love for being a vampire but rather for the bonus stats with little penalties, I don't think there is a pressure to create content for them.

I would think DLC would have to be for everybody. I was a vampire for a bit but it annoyed the hell out of me, and I'm not giving up an Ult slot to become a werewolf, so...
