How do I unlock heavy armor?

I just rolled a new character. I'm wearing 5-1-1 and I got the message heavy armor has reached level 24 but I still can't see it in my skills. Light and medium armor are there.

Does anyone know the trick?

    i think the armor equipped needs to be green too, white armor seems not to work (didn't for me) on the other hand, i only had to equip 1 piece of green armor of a type to get the skill line im pretty sure

    As far as I know, that's not part of the requirements at all.

    Also, you can unlock the skill line by finding a heavy armor book. Those are scattered randomly through the game, so just check every bookshelf you see.

    Yeah. Part of the changes made with Morrowind. To unlock armour lines you need to equip three pieces of armour. To unlock weapon lines you need to land the killing blow on something using the weapon

    Yeah, it about dicovering the game. So 90% of peeps will only use 10% of the game, cause they didn't find out, which is great for saving resources.

    Basically, new players got trolled by ZoS. It is the most ridiculous, unintuitive system they could have put in the game.

    Sigh.... I agree this game does not really do a good job of educating players. Possibly because it was inspired by Oblivion, which did a crap job of teaching. Original Morrowind did much better for weaving things into the experience of the world.

    Luckily there are friendly people in chat and on the forums.. .just ignore the many trolls.

    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
