Unacceptable Ping Issues... Again...

So, I've sat quiet for a long time about the issues with this game. But seriously, what kind of development processes are going on at ZOS? Your customers are ANGRY! We're experiencing the same issues game wide again that we experienced last week with broken routes related to ZOS's ISP. I've been very happy to see that ZOS has begun better deployment cycles and started more closely following lean development principles and have been bringing transparency to their customers with change feedback and whatnot. But honestly, why are the same issues being reintroduced patch after patch? You guys need to get the idea that if your customers want to purchase a Ferrari, you first deliver a skateboard, then a scooter, then a motorcycle, and build on top of proven framework until the end goal is met. But you started with a 1990's Ford POS from a junk yard and are still trying to make a broken transmission work. You seriously need to actually get to work on fixing important parts of the game before introducing new features. Wake up the infrastructure teams in their cubicles please.

A large portion of your community can't play this broken game and you are giving us the impression that you just don't care as long as you are getting paid. Well, don't forget, we provide your paychecks. This is literally insanity.

In case anyone is actually curious, yes I debugged my connection, and I ran a trace to the ZOS servers. It's the same issue as last week; my trace logged about a 50% drop in packets.

I've been having issues the last 1.5 hours. Lots of packet loss, both with and without WTFast. Simply not playable. :(

Was fine last couple of days until sudden lag last night. Not sure it was on my side or ZOS.

Did the recommended system requirements for the game change with Morrowind? My video card (ATI 7790 with 1GB of memory) was close to the recommended requirements and I rarely recall any fps/lag problems pre Morrowind. I am not a programmer but I realize adding/changing code in one area almost always breaks something somewhere else :)

If the lag/fps problem was for 30 seconds or so then corrected itself I can live with that. But when I get 999+ latency and 1-2 FPS for over a couple minutes I know it is time to quit.

Oddly, when I do try to quit I have quite a delay before I get a blank screen then another 30 seconds or so before my desktop or login screen appear.

I too am having these very same issues, a couple weeks ago I was around 86ping, now I'm constantly at 148, then it jumps to an astounding 1435+ sometimes it just caps out at around 5k.... then back down to 140's... Always after some dumb ass patch comes through, then they'll do some minor patching and it will be fine. However it seems they let everyone get paid who works a ZOS whether they do their job or not.

I have a sneaking feeling the servers are being overwhelmed and they might need to start thinking about dividing up the servers into West, Central, Mid-West and East for the NA players. Can't PvP even remotely with pings like this.

Speaking of PvP, did anyone see the EP hacks sneak through the Under 50 Campaign the other day? Just before the patch came out a bunch of the EP guys were in the Below 50 PvP campaign with CP 400+ points... needless to say the zone chat was EPIC on the DC side that day :)

Actually, that's a misconception. When you deploy new code or change existing code, you should have sufficient test coverage that you can be confident nothing will break. But this goes back to starting with a 1990s Ford POS... it was broken to begin with... and don't get me started on the obvious lack of testing done on this game...

Yeah, that's completely different, and coming from an infrastructure engineer's standpoint involves much harder problems to solve. However, walking around in the game solo shouldn't be causing people to disconnect... : /

Sadly it looks that way :(

I was optimistic they had this lag issue fixed. But it seems to be rearing its ugly head again. They need to either upgrade or replace these "data routes" that seem to keep causing problems.

Same here. I've been running great last couple of days - but tonight it started to get bad again. So I doubt it was on your side.

Can confirm that the connection issues I was having last week have returned. Please @ZOS_GinaBruno, let us know if something is happening with ZoS's ISP again, and let us know if you're going to do something about it.

Yesterday, not so bad. Tonight is absolutely terrible. Can't quest when you intermittently go to 999+ latency. That level of latency makes my toon "wake up dead'. No fun.
