[Please help] Unable to play due to high latency 500 - 999 ping after Morrowind launch (7/12/2017)

Even though ZOS claims they have resolved the issue I and many other players at least from my guilds are having lags that can reach up to 999 ping. I wanted to progress my warden and max him out but this destroys any hope I have of playing the game.

Please @ZOS_GinaBruno or any other ZOS staff look into it. I don't think you guys resolved it since I am not the only one with this problem.

ESO is currently the only MMO I play because I put a lot of money and time into this game I want to play it and this unexplained lag spikes I get don't make it easy.

Please! Please! help me out :(

I'm having the exact same issues on PC, and my guild is having the exact same issues on Xbox. This needs to be fixed.

Happening on PC NA and Xbox NA as far as I am aware.

    Previously a problem on EU.

I have no problem ATM, that's after a complete delete and reinstall with no ADDONs.
I also uninstalled minion for Justin.

So reports of my potato-laptop or my ISP being at fault are largely exaggerated and/or just wild stabs-in-the-dark.

Additional symptoms noted earlier, in other posts:
    • Delays with the content of chest (and other containers) being presented In some cases a successfully picked lock was delayed so long that it required re-picking after what was apparently a 'time-out' issue.
    • Space-time-continuum phenomena - when moving across the landscape; the scene changes back to a position that was traversed in the preceding 2-3 seconds; and then back to the current position i.e. the whole landscape changes.
    • Character refusing to respond to commands e.g. just standing there, not chopping the wood.

These are all game-mechanics issues that are linked to time-outs in some way.

    For the helpful forum folk:
Please refrain from identifying the 'local' ISP and 'Potato' PC as the fundamental problem here.
To be blunt: you don't know that.

Same problem here. Ping spikes up to 12sec(!). Clearly this means the game in pretty much unplayable for me at the moment.

Playing from Korea on the EU server.

The point of asking your relative location is to determine how far away from the server you are located. If you are on the other side of the planet trying to play NA, that will give you a high ping no matter what you do. If you are also playing on a potato laptop..i.e. not a high end gaming laptop, that will stack on top of your location issue (if there is one) and make things even worse for you.

Plus the reason for asking the ISP is to help identify common causes, if there are a number of players reporting problems and they're all using the same ISP then it helps narrow down the cause, not least if they're also all playing from the same location.

I'm not asking for your bank details, a country and the company name of your ISP is all  !

    For the helpful forum folk:
It has already been established in another discussion here, that with my location in AU, a latency figure of 450 is likely be the average figure displayed. This is proving to be correct, with 390 being the best. Gameplay shows the range 450-600 with occasional spikes up to 700 and (now rarely) 999+. With video settings configured largely as 'Medium', along with shortened view distances, I can run an enjoyable game with FPS ratings of 20-25.

    THIS:
    • Delays with the content of chest (and other containers) being presented In some cases a successfully picked lock was delayed so long that it required re-picking after what was apparently a 'time-out' issue.
    • Space-time-continuum phenomena - when moving across the landscape; the scene changes back to a position that was traversed in the preceding 2-3 seconds; and then back to the current position i.e. the whole landscape changes.
    • Character refusing to respond to commands e.g. just standing there, not chopping the wood.
    STILL OCCURS.
The lock picking problem has worsened, with hangs and eventual game-crash following.

    For the original poster:
My advice to you is to uninstall your game and addons, including Minion itself. Reinstall and run without addons to confirm any change that you might see. This has worked for me MOSTLY. There is still a problem and I know see this as addons not responding efficiently to whatever the issue at the server end is.

My observation of Master Merchant as an addon, is that it polls the server looking for changes, especially at startup. What is not clear is if it also polls during gameplay. Somehow, these two issues are combining to create the 999+ spike. At least two weeks trial and limited observation has lead me to this this current conclusion:
    • The potato, as specified, is not causing the latency figure of 999+
    • With a new build, free of addons is played, the expected latency figure in the 400-500 range delivers acceptable gameplay.
    • Two of the three issues noted here by me are when the character is stationary and there is no screen-painting activity underway.
    • The third issue relates to being moved 'back to a previous point' and therefore the ASSUMPTION is that 'the current point' in gameplay has 'lagged' - forcing the game to recall a previous position.

If readers are looking for the common denominator here, then I see it as ADDONS. These are generating the symptoms of the problem. The real issue remains somewhere beyond the potato and 4-5 major internet distribution nodes.

I'm also experiencing huge lag (2 seconds is normal now) AND huge lag spikes (5-6 seconds). Since they supposedly (yet again) fixed the "PC NA megaserver connection issues" last Thursday 7/13. I've nearly had all I can take of this. I have a better game to play now.

PC EU, ping used to be around 220 to 250. Now it's more like 400 to 800 with big spikes every few mins. Not my internet as my other mmo games to EU are running at around 200 to 220ms.

Same getting huge spikes every few minutes. 99 fps, but 120 ping up to 30k randomly. This occurs with no addons.
