Along with the old gold set of Dreugh King Slayer, the 6 or 7 gold inferno staffs, I'll be throwing a gold set of Sheild Breaker into the garbage too?
This thread isn't to argue what should or should not happen.
But when you make a change to an armor set, at least let me break it down and get my Gold Materials back.
I'm am millions of gold wasted because one day you decide a set is going to work differently. As someone that puts a fair amount of money and time into this game, when your going to take an Inferno staff and say "it now hits for 30% less damage" or Sheild Breaker is no longer of any value on a staff.... good customer service would allow me to at least recoup my materials..

✭✭This is why I always say stop flogging your gold mats just to scrape a few coins together. Everytime people clean themselves out, something happens and they have nothing to upgrade new gear and barely any gold at the end of it. Each patch hoard 40 of each and then sell surplus. You'll never come up short then. Plus the above isn't anywhere near millions of gold lol.PC Master Race

ZOS are not going to compensate you for this, nor should they. This is how progressive games balance works and has always worked, if you invest all your money into the current top builds then you have to do so with the acceptance of that build changing a few months down the line.

This is bit of bug bear of mine, I once deconned 17 Maelstrom swords / Maces and 17 shields all at once to free up bank space...I landed 3 Alloys and 5 Rosins but 10 Potent Nirns and 9 fort Nirns. Not cool at all.PC Master Race

✭Eso comes with a new update every 3 month with a high chance of one or more of the following to happen:
- the fotm wheel taking another turn -> setrankings r turned upside down
- traitrebalancing -> traitrankings r turned upside down
- item cap increase -> all current gear is obsolete
- skill rebalancing -> loadouts that r good for a low amount of skills become obsolete
- new sets -> existing sets become obsolete
One startegy to counter that, is to go for gear that is easily replaceable (crafted set w/ weapons). Additionally, if u "invest" into your gear, u should make sure that u dont invest more, than what it will return within a 3-month cycle (not golding anything but your mainbars mainhand, if even).

There was a time when:
- sharp elegance swords sold for 1m.
- dw vma weaps where a thing.
- nirnhoned was exclusivly used as weapontrait.
- 4 martial knowledge, 2 adroitness, 2 torugs, 2 cyro light was a thing.
- noone was using lightningstaffs.
- ppl used footman and histbark.3 -

you know ZoS said the reason they only do big balance updates during the DLC updates (so 4 times a year) is because they are conscious that people need to remake gear and that they don't want to make people remake gear constantly.
at the time they were laughed at by people who said that was a dumb excuse to not balance the game and they would prefer to make new gear then having to deal with imbalance till the next update
