How is the US server compared to EU?

I have all my characters on PS4 EU, but want to try out the US server

Now, I live in Russia and UK (travel back and forth) and rarely visit US

What if I start playing in the US server? Given that I will be far away from it, will I get lags?

I am mostly a solo player, so no issue with loosing guildmates or smt like that

Well, I have to be sure first that I won't receive any lags and will be able to play normally as I do on the EU servers

There will be some more latency yes, I am not sure what it sits at on average for people playing from UK/Russia however.

Be aware though that if you transfer servers anything you've purchased from the Crown Store will not transfer with you, they're server specific not global.

Good to know. Thanks for the info

It's still good advice to test it for yourself. Roll a character, play normally for a session and see how it goes. Your own experience will prove much more useful to you than any number of other people's.

I'm on Xbox Eu and levelled up a charcther on Na to level cp120 until morrowind came out , can't speak for other platforms but Na is far more active , I will say that you miss all the perks you have over here maxed crafting , assistants etc

I started playing ESO on the PS4 NA server, but then found out I would be relocating to Germany a year later, so I began playing on the PS4 EU server in expectation of building friendships, etc. I had no desire to begin again after investing a lot of time in the game (it's not my first MMO, so I have been through server switches and loss of contacts before), so I began playing on the EU server.

When I would switch back and forth between my EU and NA servers to play different characters, I really didn't notice much difference. When I got to Germany and began playing my EU server characters exclusively, I can honestly say I didn't notice any significant changes in my server response time. In fact, the only times I have connectivity issues or lag-related symptoms appearing in game, I can safely say it has to do with my local connection, not the location of the EU server.

When the PS4 EU server is down but the NA server is up, I will sometimes pop in over there to feed a horse or poke around with one of those old characters - never have I thought, "Man, this server is so far away...everything is so laggy!" Never.

Long story short (too late), I personally noticed no discernible difference between (lag-wise) between playing on EU from NA or playing on NA from EU.

Oh, and what @Turelus said is spot on regarding the Crown Store purchases. Somehow those are server specific (ridiculous in my opinion), so if it were me I would probably just stick to the server where I'd already spent the most real-life money.

    Hope that helps.

NA is definitely busier. A group of friends and I have been leveling characters on the EU server recently.

DEFINITELY miss my costumes/armor dyes and mounts!

    :disappointed:

You'll be ok, though....With the usual ESO lag on both servers for me***

    Daggerfall's Mightiest- PS4 NA
    Wardens of Morrowind-PS4 NA
    Cyrodiil Death Squad- PS4 NA/EU
