Red Mountain / Proc Sets - do they hit single target or aoe?

Similar to viper or fire - it says "your attack deal additional" - does this mean single target or aoe? When i'm dealing damage with a aoe ability like whirlwind or reverse slice - will the proc hit also ALL the enemies or just one of them?
