    I took this account from a family member when they decided they didn't want it and he named it so it would sound like his son Ingame . Only his Son hates PC and only plays ESO on Ps4 . I was going to name it somethings like Jungle Claws and he said I suck at names and to leave it . So now I am just use to this . I am still planning to make Jungle Claws one day because I don't care if I suck at names .
    @Rohamad_Ali
    I would delete this asap. I have seen zos ban an in game account within 12 hour hours of a guy saying and his wife play the same account....

    Same household ZOS knows they're are 3 accounts one for each of us . No rules broken .

    I didn't even know duplicates weren't allowed. Most of my characters have a last name, and those that don't, I created so early that they were still available.

    I am curious what people do when the great name they have designed is already taken. Did you just take a new completely different name, or come up with a unique way to still use the name you wanted? For me, I was disappointed that my name was already taken. I have been using it for a long time and would have loved to use it for ESO. I like using my real name Davor. Lots of people think it's a fake name, so in a world where people use fake names, I could use my real name. I have tried, Davorine and Davorkkiin for the characters of Morrowind and Skyrim, but just wasn't happy with it. Finally I figured out to us Davvor. The double vv just like in Vvardenfell.

    So how did you get around when you wanted to use your name and it was already taken?

    ESO recognizes international keyboards. Change your keyboard to a different country in Windows and then select a foreign alphabet character using Microsoft on-screen keyboard in ease of access center. For example, if I wanted the name "Davor", but it's taken, I switch to a Vietnamese keyboard and spell it "Davôr" at character creation. Then switch keyboards back. Never had an issue with people sending me tells either. The possibilities are endless for using a special character and name you want.

    I pick another name... cut the last half off then add cthulhu in its place. That is how the pros handle that situation and cthulhu is BiS in any name.

    For example:
    vivec or whatever doesn't matter. Viv/ec (bye bye ec). Viv+cthulhu= Vivcthulhu which also ='s kinda cool.

    I cannot agree with my own post, but in this case I would.

    I had a Khajiit stam sorc whom I deleted to make room for another character ;_;
    He had a holiday and came back as a Warden. But even though I made up his name originally, J'skarr, someone had used it while he was off gallivanting about unknown parts of Tamriel. So he is now J'sharr... and he will tell anyone who asks that the midwife's handwriting was extremely poor xD

    The rest of my characters have pretty much made up names... the most 'normal' is Anora and the most unoriginal is Merlina.
    My two favourites are Dame Edna Average and my Argonian healer, Run Lykits Godzilla.

    I mean not many people have Izaki in their name in the first place and even fewer have Izaki followed by a a one word description of the character in japanese...

    I got a Majo (Mage - mSorc), I got a Shogun (General - sSorc), I got a Senshi (Warrior - sNB main), Tsume (Claw - sDK), I got a Gado (Guardian - sWarden) and I got a Ansei (sTemplar - that's not japanese, rather craglornian, but it fit pretty well with the theme, the character and the race).

    So I actually never had my name taken yet.

    like if you want Selene and its taken:

    Séléné

    You do know that that completely alters the pronunciation of the word, right? But I mean who cares, right? Its a character name in a video game xD

    I do what you did - add/change a letter or two in a way that will make the name sound appropriate for the character's race. Sometimes I reference UESP Wiki's name pages. If that doesn't satisfy me, I'll look up the name - and may end up forfeiting character creation while I research! This is the first result for "@Davor name meaning" on Google:
    Davor is an old Slavic given name possibly derived from the prehistoric Slavic god of war (equivalent of Mars) or from an old exclamation expressing joy or sorrow. Feminine variant: Davorka. The name may refer to: Davor Antunović (born 1979), popular German author and psychotherapist.
    Davor (name) - Wikipedia
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davor_(name)

    That wiki page offers Davorin as an alternate, and Davorka as a female alternate. Next, I would check behindthename.com and not finding much there, I'd then pursue the Slavic god of war line (search for "davor slavic god of war"), which comes up with a new name:
    Davor (Rugiewit, Rugiwit or Rujevit) was a Slavic deity. In a questionable interpretation he is seen by some as a local personification of the all-Slavic god of war... via https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugiewit

    And now I've fallen down the rabbit hole. I spend a lot of time on names. :blush:

    I've only ever had this problem with Argonian names.

    First-names-only characters seem to be the hardest these days.. I like using first + last names myself and sometimes titles and such, so those generally make sure the name is unique. I.e. adding a Sir, Lady etc. prefix to the name, or something of a title like "the Brave" . (Roderick may be taken, but Sir Roderick the Bold may not be..) Also, diacritics are your friend.

    Every time I try to come up with a fun or cute Argonian name though.. they're taken. And since I'm mostly a fan of their Cyrodilic naming style instead of Saxhleel names, I gotta get creative. :smile: Above tips don't work for me in case of an Argonian, since I don't think diacritics or titles etc. fit in their Cyrodilic naming convention. So I try other things, and when I created Plays-ln-Puddles I used the same trick as I did on my username; the l of "in" is actually a lowercase L.

    I have that problem from time to time. Anomander, Nimander, Anomandaris are always names taken. Fortunately I was here at launch and gobbled up every variation I could with my alts.

    Funny aside, I joined a guild made up of entirely Malazan World player name's. Pretty cool when you run into a group of folks online that share a passion for the novel's you do.

    I honestly just make variations of name; If they fit my current mood; they work for me.

    My 'creative' toons;
    WhaleSperm
    Salty After Taste
    Essence Of Whale Salt
    Etc..

    But when I played hardcore RP I mostly used a name generator; tried to Shakespeare it till it kinda fit.

    FYI with gaming you meet a lot of different people
    Today you have met the best saltiest person there can be.

    I've only had that issue 2-3 times, but I just change the spelling a bit so it's still lore-friendly or add a surname/title. One thing I'll never do is accented letters or weird characters.

    I take two or three names that make sense...I'll take two greek names - a god/goddess (first name) and then something roman - like "Invictus" or for argonians something like: adjective-adjective-noun; e.g. off the top of my head: Windy-with-Clouds

    I frequently use a surname. This is almost mandatory for Nords, and fun, too. I find it easy enough to do for Imperial, Breton, Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, and Orc. The beast races can be hard or easy, depending on how you want to make it.

    Until ESO, Redguards did not commonly use surnames. I guess the other way to look at it is that, some time in the centuries after ESO, the Redguards dropped their surnames. In any case, my Redguards are ahead of their time and tend to not use surnames. :smile: In ESO, every Redguard surname seems to start with "al-", "af-", or "at-", so easy. Alice at-Diner. Norm at-Barstool. Not really difficult.
