Yup, I am one of these guys really disappointed with how the game is going, duh I am not even playing it for half of a year but I am still watching content, chatting with former guildies, reading patch notes eh... Here is the deal, I would really love to play this game, I loved it but current state and well state from over a year spoiled the game for me pretty effectively. Am I the only one who thinks that Dark Brotherhood began the process of destruction? (proc sets, resource poisons, 5k penetration traits?!!, heavy armor meta). NO I am not, most of the players I spoke agreed with me (casuals/pugs view not included, why would they care anyway).
The idea is to launch the second servers, like EU 2/ NA 2 or even call them somehow, it doesnt matter. What does matter is the content. Basicly with the class balance of 2.2 which for PVP was one of the best times, yes, yes everyone's favourite Magica DK was such garbage, was it? well, Etaniel and Skaffa could prove u wrong. Those times still wasnt perfect and YES they required a few adjustments, here is the obligatory changes:
1. CP system - default CP launch trees with cap up to 10% improvment instead of 25%. There were no changes to CP required, why? because we had to split points, it was way more difficult to split points the most optimally. Take example of of stam DK, 30% of his damage was elemental, DB changes killed the original design of the class. CP should be just a touch, not 30% of entire build. Also no cap requiered.
2. Weapon trees - just never, even try coming up with those "balanced" weapon ultimates. They brought variety but also cancer, I dont even feel like I have to explain. But for those trying to play stupid: ganker's friend Onlaught and zerg's favorite Eye of Balance. We don't need them in the game. And here comes the infamous Wrecking Blow, was it OP? depends, against decent player, not really but against noobs ... oh boiii. WB allowed for Burst builds in PVE which weren't that far behind DOT builds back in day. It's not like it couln't without knockback, but that thing was useful in PVE, vMA specificly. Beyond that passives were pretty good, only that Lighning Staff required buff to become subtitute for Elemental Ring.
3. Difficulty level - applies mostly to PVE, make it hard. It's MMO after all. Just scal all the endgame content to v16. V16? Yes, u read it correctly. Till now I have no clue, why did they remove veteran ranks, becasue pug's cried? With the CP's bonuses reduction it should be all good at that time, but a little difficulty increase wouldn't hurt.
4. General variety - Every type of gameplay should be unique, after all we don't wanna use all same skills on every stam variations of the class like we had till Morrowind. Instead make certain skills being strong in certain setups. Like Poison injection being good only with Master's bow etc.
5. Race balance - There are first choice races: Dunmer, Altmer, Redguard and there is the rest, why not make people to play other races as well? Take that Nord of example, who would pick the Nord knowing state of the game? Give him something for OP tank build example: 10-12% Health, 10% dmg reduction, 10% ultimate cost reduction. Or Orc? Could be perfect for stam burst builds, just give him that 3% more stamina.
6. Economy - having best income from PVP like it was in 1.6 (gear for AP) wasn't stupid idea but still, we have other options there is still not ruined/nerfed IC city (agility/willpower), just don't make easly obtainable end game mats. IC and Crafting Writs thats the way to go to make it expensive and exicting same time. The most important thing: NO BOT POLICY. And also no Craftbag please, we don't want it that easy.
There is only a few things which could be adjusted, there is more and I still have ideas, tho there is no point of writing it all for now.
I am pretty sure the community could help with the project, so we all could be happy about it.
The most important thing for Zenimax = MONEY (now u know why there is $$ in the tittle). Well, I don't really have any clue about the costs of maintaining the server, but I am guessing the money they could make could easly provide them profit. Zose should think about it as opportunity to milk customers again. How so? Well, a lot of players would migrate to the new server, I am guessing at least 70%+ of original server's population. Since the game is quite good again, old players could come back and some new would give it a try. Well and guess what? they have no crowns, if they wanna some cool crown store crap, they gotta pay, not even mention that most of them would go for supscription straight away to level way faster. They can even call that entire project an expansion and make it B2P. All I see here is profit for Zose, and joy for players. Why wouldn't make it happen?
