What are your Role Playing things you do when you play ESO?

I am starting a new character and playing it a bit differently. Instead of trying to do what the "internet" says is for the best builds or what "you should do in a build" I am just doing what I want to have fun. So I am going to play an Argonian Mage. This time this character doesn't attack unless he is attacked. Well that didn't last long since I started in Morrowind, I hate slavers, so the slavers get attacked on site now. As for wild animals I don't attack them no more for XP points but only attack or I should say defend myself if they attack me or my pets.

I won't attack enemies unless I hate them like slavers. I went to the Argonian home quests (sorry forget the name) and talked to the hooded person and started that quest. So I ended up on the island and I started to hate the people who were going to attack them, so I attack them on sight now.

If I see a Nirnroot plant, before I pick it up, I go into 3rd person view, kneel and pray before picking it up. For me I am saying that the Nirnroot holds a symbolic meaning to my character. For me in real life, it gives me a little giggle what I did to my wife in Walmart. We were in the plant section, I went into "sneak" mode in real life, and yelled "NIRNROOT!" and she got all embarrassed. If I see butterflies/bugs I click on them. If they have wings, I take them but then go into 3rd person mode and "Pray" for killing an innocent but praying for them thanking that they will help me better Tamriel. If by accident I do kill an animal that didn't attack me, I pray for them as well for forgiveness.

I haven't played multiplayer yet just PvE so far that is what I have done for Role Playing my character. I would like to see what other players do maybe I can see something I would like to try and do as well. So if you do it, what do you do and why. If you don't do it, why don't you? Like to see both sides of the story.
Not my quote but I love this saying

"I would pay It for support. But since they choosed we are just numbers and not customers, i dont mind if game and zos goes to oblivion"

I like this bit the most, I've wanted to RP an argonian who just kills slavers and evil people, never got round to it. You give me motivation to do it!
Very nice stuff overall, as someone who roleplays a lot it makes me so happy that others do the same sort of stuff as I do.

I have moments in game when I just take a second to pray or to "take in" my surroundings. I can get so immersed I forget there's a real life at the end of all this, hah. :)

I also have multiple characters who all "know" each other in game and what not, so they all exist in the same "universe". Characters who live together, have brothers and sisters. When one of them sees something I'd often make them sit down and think for a second. "Who would like this for a gift?" they ask themselves. Place the item in the bank and when that character comes on they "receive" the gift.

I also RP with other people in game (in a rp guild so it helps) we all meet up in the guildhall or a random place on the map, do some RP, maybe do a dungeon. It's fun

In ESO I ~don't really~ do RP, unless I'm with friends. There are, however, some "rituals" aka "RP things" that I keep doing with my main & alts when leveling.

I can only come up with one atm. There's this one Orc-ghost-priest guy on Khenarthi's Roost that asks if he can pray for you because he thinks you're dead (it's the other way around, really.) After his prayer, he supposedly "fades" away, and I always /pray for him. It's just something silly I like to do. :)

    Roleplaying things I do:
    * comming up with a backstory (though I basicly have the same story for all my characters)
    * refusing to hurt NPC I like
    * activley hunting down and killing NPC I don't like (even if that means I will get a bounty).
    * abandoning and redoing quests if I pick the wrong option)

there was a time that for any dungeon i did i would wear the appropriately themed monster helm for fun (whether it was stamina or magicka appropriate didn't matter). Does that count?

I think the only role play thing I do is: house decoration, character names (even that isn't really RP, its just the japanese army ranks) and costumes/skins/personalities/haircuts.

When people say things like "Yes, ma'am" and "You're the boss" as I gently guide them around dungeons, they get a kind warning that if they screw-up they'll be licking my boots clean.

Then when we clear the dungeon because of my benevolent and generous advice, for their reward I allow them to lick them anyway.

Outside of dungeons I do actual, serious RP with other people, but I've found the above comedy routine sometimes works really well in motivating people. Maybe that should trouble me a bit more than it does.

When I RP I just do normal stuff around my house or I put on a costume and toggle walk and go on a walk in the town. I prefer Evermore for that.

I always enjoy coming up with a detailed backstory for all my "main " characters (meaning, the three I actually roleplay with, the rest are more like testbed characters and crafting support... although, that can chan ge, seeing how my third "main" started out as my crafting alt, but I ended up liking her enough to "promote" her to full RP character... ;) )

My main usually tried her best to sneak past "animal" and "guard" type mobs, as befitting a sneaky bounty huntress who is there for the big shots with a price on their heads, not the local wildlife or their hired help. Unless its bandits or something, for those one gets paid by ear... :naughty:
She also tends to be ruthless when it comes to quest choices, doing the job she was hired to no matter who gets hurt... but not actively evil, when she isn't paid to do bad things to bad people, she prefers to be nice-ish. I find it great fun considering which character would take what quest choice... some vary widely. Same for other considerations... she only uses daggers because small weapons make most sense for a sneaky rogue type character, and if there were crossbows, she'd be using those instead of her bow as well for backstory reasons (gods I hope someday ZOS will refit those to ESO). She kept every disguise, just in case... (and yeah, I also wish they'd remove all the disguises and give us the visuals as costume on a tab for those whose quest is completed, to free up her inventoiry) and I also picked her crafting skills for her backstory - provisioner and alchemist, cooking and poisonmaking (though generally not in the same cauldron, unless its that kind of job...)
I also take care with my criminal activities... always doing my best to avoid a bounty (fu... uhm... forget getting that achievement soon), not going on a murder spree without a contract, etc (still got mass murderer achievemtn... it just took quite a while longer). Even when it would be easy to avoid a guard, I find it more fun to keep to the realistic "don't get caught" theme... as it fits the character, she is not an bandit after all.

My secondary librarian often goes with an "do not attack unless attacked" theme, which can be a pain as he is a long range sorc build and thus often neglecting his best advantage... and since he is a good guy character, I'll never ever do the TG and DB questlines with him, merely visited the regions for the exploration and skyshards (and felt pretty vexed that a visit to abah's landing came with an automatic TG membership - talk about an offer you cannot refuse... ;) ) For the same good guy reason, I saved Valaste instead of taking that folio from uncle cheo for extra skill points. Roleplaying trumps game effect for me any day!
Also, because he is a skinny librarian boy, he never learns blacksmithing... despite being a bit crafty otherwise, and also never took any intimidation on account of not being very intimidating, as a skinny dunmer librarian - apprentice wizard type... he is exactly the guy who gets intimidated himself (and his lunch coppers taken. And given a loincloth wedgie too)
And I really wish there were alternate weapons for destruction magic, I'd love to have him cast his spells from a spellbook instead with a staff... 's why I make suggestions like that on occasion...

And my third "main" is my crafting character, she is all paladin-like in her naive rightousness, and all too eager to bash all "evildoers" in her way (though sometimes a little confused as to who is how evil) - although that bashing mindset may be a part of her orc background... but she is always willing to stand up for law and justice (and again, not going to do any thieveing or contracted murdering because of it, and for her I really wish there was an option to play these DLCs from the other side, she's totally join the iron wheel...) She even refuses to use her intimidating presence to shortcut some quests if it would be "unjust"... and never was smart enough to become persuasive...

I have not had much of a chance to actually roleplay with them due to lack of partners, but that's no surprise considering my sociophobia... in time, who knows.

    I only use Staves :p

Well, in PvE on a Magicka toon, that's a given. But in PvP, I don't use DW nor do I use S&B on my healer setup since I'm trying to keep my char looking like a Wayfarer/Druid type. So I am trying to make my Warden look like a Nature Mage as much as possible, even if it means sacrificing a couple of things
