Gear and CP in PvP

ckerr08

Hey guys,

As I'm closing in on level 50 my main ambition is to PvP in eso. I was wondering how many CPs do I need to grind before I'm not at a huge disadvantage in PvP? Also what is the best way to get good gear?

Thanks

CP160 is required for end game gear so start there.

If you join a Non-CP campaign youll be on even ground as far as base power otherwise join group/zerg should keep you going with constant dying.

as far as gear it all depends on your build and what your goal is in pvp

I am a stamina nightblade. I want to just be good enough to have fun and win duels.

Go to no-CP campaign first :) then you need to hit CP160 to at least put end game gear

CP160 is technically end game. Of course having the max of 630 CP helps a lot. But thankfully you have plenty of no CP PvP options to choose from now.

Everyone thinks stam NB is such a great thing because they see all the "pros" racking up kills. NB is a very tricky class to play, many times very situational, a lot of these top NBs are pretty much the same build/meta. NB is definitely a class where your gear combinations matter a lot (especially PvP and end game PvE) and more CP you have the better. Otherwise you will find your NB being squishy and not having enough damage output.

    Ingame:
you need 500+ CP + gold gear sets
    Rotation Practice
    Animation Cancelling Practice

    Offgame:

ESO presents to you L2P offgame

If you are good at PvP you must have critical thinking as well. Even though in ESO it is the least in the mix.

In your opinion whats a good class for a new player who wants to pvp? I like to play offensive melee characters and not being squishy if possible.

With a stamina nightblade you are able to fight in front without dying. But like @ckerr08 said, you need to learn much before you prepared to do that..

Your learning curve from stamina builds is much greater. At start you are weaker as Magicka player then you will get on same level maybe after few month or after a year. Until more time and mastering all speacial knowledge you need to have, you are able to become stronger then magickabuilds. With Magickabuilds is the fight more stressless, but Stamina needs more skill to master it in my opinion.

    Farm 160 sets.

    Go into non cp.

You won't be comptetive in cp pvp until 500

There will be a lot of trial and error no matter which class you choose to play. For melee characters, the stamDK may be a little more up front tanky and survive more damage outright, but a good stamblade can make irritatingly effective use of cloak shades and dodgeroll to effectively avoid most incoming damage.

If you like your stamNB character, stick with it. The potential effectiveness is very high for solo/small group play, but less effective for large group play. As others have said, you can start with noCP but I would still wait until you have cp160 gear so you don't have to worry about upgrading gear anymore.
