Swamp Raider on HybriDK

I'm planning on utilizing the Swamp Raider set on my HybriDK with Pelinial and 1 Velidreth.

Is anybody utilizing this set up, and if so, how is it?

For pve: Bad idea. For hybrid prio #1 is getting physical- and spell-penetration up. -> 5 light armor + 5 spriggans.

skillwise, u'd take the best of both worlds: lots and lots of aoe dots:
caltrops, hail, wall of flames, eruption. that locks u down on firestaff/bow, thus going with burning embers and engulfing flames u get more out of it. add besttrap and poison arrow,2 slots left, id put inner light on staffbar and evil hunter on bow.

On a non-hybrid setup in can be fun for PVP counter-melts with the Toxic Barrage Bow ultimate:

5 pc Swamp Raider
5 pc Morag Tong
1 pc Maelstrom Bow (or Veli/Kena)

Step 1 - Igneous Weapons for Major/Minor Brutality
Step 2 - Fossilize to trap enemy and activate Swamp Raider
Step 3 - Toxic Barrage for the melt

It's real nice if you also have the other poison dots on as well.

Run VDSA bow instead of VMA. Also FOO proc's it and will refresh each time it ticks. Igneous Weapons is too much magicka for only Major Brut, better to put 2H on other bar and use rally for both Major Brut and burst heal.

TBH though, Marksman will probably be better in any PVP scenario involving bow.

While a similar setup to this should be strong against Magicka builds, it will not be very strong against stamina. Toxic Barrage damage is delayed slightly and is entirely mitigated by interrupt, stun, dodge roll, reflect, and LOS.

I was actually toying with the idea of a full bow build For PvE on my NB using swamp raider. Just not sure if shadow image would proc the set bonus. Masters bow one bar maelstrom on the other. Slot all the poison and disease skills and and see how it goes. Just bored with stamina only really being melee.

ooh, let me know how it goes. I think the shadow image would proc it: The shade’s attacks deal [x] Magic Damage and afflict the enemy with Minor Maim, reducing their damage by 15% for 4 seconds

There are already other sets that did that. (Senche bite - roll dodge, Hundings rage - craftable).

Honestly, I think they are postponing adding Jewelry crafting because most builds will become Hundings rage + some other crafted set for stam and Julianos + some other crafted set for Magicka)
