Specifically, on a baby alt in the non 50 campaign. It's a lot fun and is almost reminiscent of pvp back in the day

The zerg ball groups already began to dominate Cyrodiil within a few months after launch. It can still be fun playing solo, I just try to avoid those kind of groups.

Overall there is something very special about the core gameplay system of Cyrodiil. Not sure exactly why, but somehow it has kept my interest for the past 4 years.

I didn`t even go there, and i`m not planning to until nothing to explore will be left in the world. And only for those " PVE " aspects of Cyro.
I don`t like mindless slaughterhouses, I prefer PvP with a goal, profit. Like take away farming spot, gang enemy guild, steal other player cargo and etc. Just running around killing each other without any good reason is meh.

Yeah I agree with this. I'm more into open world PvP with meaning so was a bit gutted when PvP in the justice system was cut. But there's not really any open world PvP MMO out there that catches my interest so I'm just chilling in cyrodiil for now

Not really; no. Which is why I hardly ever do it. Especially nowadays. There's nothing fun about having to sit in a long queue, just to arrive to something that is fundamentally unbalanced at its very core.

I'm a big fan. I usually start my day by making a pair of homespun gloves. After I make a pair of homespun gloves, I'll usually make another pair of homespun gloves. Once I'm done with the second pair of homespun gloves, I like to to to Cyrodiil, where I can wear my new pair of homespun gloves. They keep my hands warm at night. Once I've worn my new pair of homespun gloves in Cyrodiil for a while, I will go back to town and make a new pair of homespun gloves. Sometimes, simple is better.

As a dynamic game style by nature, there is a reason cyrodiil has stood the test of time and undergone little to no change in over 3 years. Its well designed regardless of what people say. ITS NOT PERFECT BY ANY MEANS but it is so well designed from a gameplay aspect that there are entire guilds dedicated to it, there is a tremendous community and subculture built around it and there are players who level 1-cp630 in pvp exclusively. All the major streamers made fortunes off of it and it is still a portion of the game that commands wonder, awe, and envy.

Legends are born in cyrodiil. Names like Zazeer, Qaevir, Murder Thumbs, DK Daniel, Dubzug, Benzy boy, Sypher, Kodi, etc etc are spoken with love or infamy or both to this day. Legends are born. Period. No other aspect of the game creates LEGENDS like that.

I pve'd for the majority of my eso career. Largely because its what my guild needed me to be. But over the last three years ive experienced all there is with pvp. Casual, competitve, guild vs guild tournament, being crowned emperor, IC, ive led pugs, newcomers, and a competitive team. Dueling battlegrounds, and never once have i ever thought about quitting pvp. Eso is a magical game. It has no rival on the market and a large part of that is due to the very pvp we log into day after day.

I still don't understand the concept of "zergs" when Cyrodil is supposed to be army vs. army....so isn't a zerg actually functioning as intended?

The game's inability to handle said zergs aside, I have always been confused by the complaints in AvAvA

I doubt most have any problem when there are large numbers of unorganized players. It can still be fun to fight and at least you have a chance to survive or escape.

However, if you keep getting chased down and focus fired by organized guild group using teamspeak, coordinated mass cliff racer / jesus beam on you or whatever, it can be a bit discouraging.

Sometimes. It's very hit or miss. When the server performance is atrocious, pvp is beyond aggravating. When it's good, it is pretty fun. However, for the past few weeks the server performance has been more atrocious than not.

In all my many years of gaming I cannot recall a more miserable gaming experience than PvP in Cyrodiil. I would rather go back to WoT and play another 10,000 battles against the noobs there than face PvP here. PvP is a form of torture we must undergo to get the skills we need elsewhere and nothing more.

Find it surprisingly addictive (never done pvp before eso).

Can even put up with the thing when mid-fight, everything suddenly freezes. Apart from me. I can run around but touch nothing. Amuses me greatly even though I know I am about to be thrown out the game.

But what really annoys me? The utter lack of any kind of battle strategy in AD. (Oooh we've got Alessia, now we can just farm ap on the bridge forever). Just wish people would look at the map occasionally. Or defend. Can be depressing sometimes.

But sometimes they are glorious & fight so fine. Hence the addictiveness as you never know when.

PvP is still great in Cyro whenever the lag isn't bad. It certainly isn't for everyone, but people like myself love it to bits as long as we don't lag out every five seconds.

At times it's the best feature of the game. Endless replay value.

More often than not it's absolutely unplayable. Lag spikes, horrid latency and a overall scoring system to easy to game. If I can get an hour straight of minimal lag in cyrodil the 2nd major problem I run into is seeing the population soo easily cheated.

Ad has incredibly long que times. So their emp will que up with a group of 10 on their DC alts and help defend the bridge between Sejanus and alessia by bombing the EP zergs.

There are good days and bad days. Lately the bad days are winning, but that has more to do with the lag issues (which are hopefully getting fixed) and everyone being crammed into one CP server (which is getting fixed Monday).
