A few questions from a returning player on PS4.

Hi all,

After more than 2,5 years of absence I decided I'd switch from PC to ESO on my PS4. I have only played one hour or so, so maybe a few questions will answer them quickly once I play some more.
I quit ESO after playing the beta and thought it was time to give the game another chance, seeing as there is a LOT of content added etc. So here are a few very random questions I have about ESO (2.0) as far as I'm concerned.

1. After completing a group dungeon, is there any way to see your stats during that whole dungeon? Like a damage meter or something like that? I would like to know if I'm getting better.
2. I read it was possible to carry a torch around in the game. Is that true? Would really add to the whole RP experience in my opinion.
3. I like to wander around in Tamriel and take screenshots and such. Is it also possible to get fun items like binoculars or something like that? Same goes for making your own cooking fire. Kinda in the same league.
4. Did ZoS add the function to swim underwater? I can imagine that there are monsters, treasures and other fun stuff in the waters of Tamriel.
5. I did a few quests already, but is there any way on the PS4 where I can actually see the quest progression I have made in a certain area? Simply 10/12 quests completed would be enough. Didn't see it when i was browsing through the settings. Once i've cleared a complete area I can go off to the next one.
6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but during an ESO presentation a few years ago there was talk about Spellcrafting and a wonderful area called Murkmire. Did they implement that?
7. In Skyrim we could become Vampires or Werewolves. I believe that's also possible in ESO, but are those things reversable as well? I remember that I couldn't switch in Skyrim and started another character for the other part of the werewolf/vampire story.
8. Anybody here playing ESO on a 4k tv with a PS4 PRO? If so, is it worth the money. I know it's semi-off-topic, but I'm playing ESO on a 1080p screen with a standard PS4. It's bright, shiny, and looks pretty good. Not sure if I would want to invest a lot of money for a little bit of improvement though.
9. This question might seem a bit petty, but is there a way to make the health/magicka/stamina bars fill up gradually? It's much easier on the eye and now it cuts from 24% up to 37% for example. Just wondering if I could change that.
10. Last question is not from my own experience, but from some other people I've talked to about the Warden class. I've created a High Elf Warden and would like to use the Bear as ultimate. In videos of the warden it doesn't seem to be responding that well to the players actions. Is that correct? I remember that my sorcerer on the PC version of ESO had a pretty good synergy with the clannfear. The bear just seems to be having a mind of it's own sometimes. And I know bears are smart animals, but that is not the issue ;)

Thanks for reading and I hope to see you in Tamriel. Safe travels!

    1. Not that I've seen.
    2. There is an emote to stand still with a torch.
    3. Not that I've seen.
    4. Nope.
    5. Nope, but most quest hubs are distinguishable by little clusters of buildings and whatnot on the map.
    6. Nope.
    7. Yep.
    8. Can't comment on this.
    9. Nope.
    10. It could use some work, but it's fine when you're soloing.

Been playing since it dropped on ps4 (also played pc at launch), but I could be wrong on some of these. Feel free to correct me if that's the case.

Kind of, Combat Metrics, TFC, OmiStats and other add ons for PC version can show your stats during specific battles

    2. I read it was possible to carry a torch around in the game. Is that true? Would really add to the whole RP experience in my opinion.
    It's an emote

    3. I like to wander around in Tamriel and take screenshots and such. Is it also possible to get fun items like binoculars or something like that? Same goes for making your own cooking fire. Kinda in the same league.
No, but you can make your own fires and crafting stations in your house

    4. Did ZoS add the function to swim underwater? I can imagine that there are monsters, treasures and other fun stuff in the waters of Tamriel.
    No

    No

I think it is still planned but no ETA

    Yes can be cured

    Haven't tried it

You can make them invisible if you want

Haven't played Warden much yet myself.

You CAN see your quest progression for an area (sort of -- it's achievement-related). Go to Journal > Achievements > Quests and scroll to the relevant location. It'll tell you how many quests you've done towards the quest achievement for the area.

Yes, it's worth it, esp. if your'e running trials or any other kind of group content. The normal PS4 is struggling with displaying all the effects of 12 players at times. If your TV supports HDR then be prepared for a much more shiny and colorful world then without. Takes some time to get used to it.

You got that right - the first 2 weeks of playing in 4k was absolutely nauseating - I find the bigger difference with PS4 Pro comes form performance though, versus graphics :)

    1. No, you may just have to go into settings and set the outgoing damage visible, and just look to see if you do over 20k now or 10k as before etc.
    2. There was a bug, where you could cheat walking while being in a constant emote, however I dont know if it still exists and many times only you see it, and your friends see a deformed version of you =/. But hey you can stand in one place and hold a torch, roleplaying you are a wall : D! I do it sometimes...I make a good wall... dont have to talk to people...
    3. Ahhhhh...no ;___;
    4. Hahaha no way, too much work for ZOS xD
    5. Hmmm I dont know...I think you can see something in the achievements but maybe Im dreaming because I havent done quests in a while!
    6. No idea yet.
    7. You can cure them both!
    8. Not sure but there have to be reviews about that online!
    9. I dont know how to help you there :(
    10. You can direct the bear with your heavy attacks or simply look at whichever enemy you want your bear to use its ultimate on while pressing R1+L1
