Different weapon types versus different enemies?

Hi everyone. I've been playing for a while now but I'm certainly not what you'd call an expert, and I only play PvE.

My character has been using different types of weapons on different types of creatures, really just for role play and I'm curious if it actually makes a difference in combat. For example I use a flame enchantment on trolls and draugr, and a mace on constructs and shock on daedra as I seem to recall the game telling me to try a shock weapon after I got killed by a clanfear. Have I got the right idea there? Also does blade or blunt make a difference? Can anyone tell me what if anything would be best to use against dwemer contructs?

Level 33 dragon knight.

Cheers everyone.

I know vampire npc are weak to fire. Werewolves are weak to posion, storm annotoch immune to concussion.

I believe spiders, frost annotachs we're weaker to fire and murcrab seemed weaker to lighting, but just conjecture.

    Doesnt really matter for pve.

Best enchantments r Glyph of Weapon Damage and Glyph of Crushing.

If u go with maxing out stamina, most beneficial is two daggers for the critical chance and a bow on backbar.
If u go with max magicka, pick fire- and stormstaff, same enchants. Firestaff for Wall of Elements (gets 20% stronger vs burning targets once u unlock the passives) stormstaff for heavy attacks (aoe dmg and magicka return).

More important than the weapontype: trait needs to be sharpened (on max level gear).

    Cant find sourcepost atm, iirr:
Worldmonsters have ~ 9,3k armorrating, vet dungeonmonsters come with 18,6k. They get 1% dmg mitigation for every 500 armor. Aim is, to push your penetration high enough to bypass all their mitigation. when u get it high enough, there i no difference anymore between "weak to fire" or "weak to everything u do".
If u use a magicka based spec, all u need is a sharp weapon and the armor passives for light armor. if u go with a stamina based spec, u will need one set that grants u penetration additionally to the sharpened weapon. candidates r: night mothers gaze, spriggans thorn, twice fanged snake, sunderflame, alkosh and kraghs. As the weapons come with 5k, u need to aim for ~4k from a set. In groupcontent, tank and healer will take care that u get enough penetration to bypass the full 18k (ransack, elemental drain, crusher glyph w/ torugs or any of the sets above)

Weapon bonuses usually overides mobs weaknesses.
e.g. inferno staff gives you 8% damage bonus for single-target attacks and shock staff gives 8% to AoE attacks, frost gives nothing. So it's more effective to hit fire athronah with single target build and fire staff then with frost staff. And if you have AoE build shock staff is more effective.
