Whats going on with ESO....?

My mojo to play this game pretty much gone, I still have not completed the warden quest line, I play a little, but most of my friends all left for the same reasons, did not like the changes this last go around sick of the cheaters and exploiters and zos not doing anything about it. I have played mmo's for a long time and that is just the way it goes nothing lasts forever.

I've reached that point during these last several days with the lag and lack of support from ZOS.

I love every thing elder scrolls - but until they quit with all these cash grabs and actually fix all the bugs - I think I'm going to leave it for a few weeks until I hear them actually explain the direction they are headed and how they're going to enhance QoL.

Hope they comment publicly before too long because I've lost all faith in ZOS. It's all about money right now - not about gameplay.

Agreed, the game is utter trash atm. They havent put in any solid effort into gameplay for ages. Hell, they won't even get us a properly working lfg tool. It would do zos some good if they lost business and revenue foe a bit.

A quality game with fun gameplay will always have a stable customer base. We have a low qual game with mostly unplayable gameplay with a very fluctuating customer base. Honestly which of the 2 do you want?

I'm still surly about the stealth speed stacking changes. I know it was just a fix, but with the way I play the game it just kills it for me.

And no, I didn't even PVP, I just enjoyed for getting around quickly to do my daily chores. And maybe an occasional dungeon.

You can't even pickup a crafting quest on your mount without getting dismounted. Makes chores even more monotonous. It was fun being able to see how fast I could do them on each of my toons everyday. That and collecting my surveys as well.

But I'll occasionally log in, see if that ever comes back which I doubt.

I'm still playing through Morrowind quests. Definitely a major increase in quality from other DLC quest lines.

I have tried many times over the years to watch ESO twitch streams but they are incredibly boring. The streamers themselves are entertaining, but watching people play video games lives is really boring. I can watch people play through Dragon Age or a game of Civ in pre-recorded videos, even if they go on for days. But the main entertainment for live stuff seems to be the chat room, and even that doesn't last long for me.

This thread just made me feel like I cashed out all my stock at it's peak. I quit awhile back, can't remember exactly which version. Was the patch they took BOE from fun content.

I will admit I was a fanboy, I was all for them cashing in on our entertainment. What turned me away was them taking any reason for me to want to run old content. BOE gave me a reason to gear up and rerun stuff.

Cheating didn't help their cause. It infected the community like AIDS. If someone did something questionable in PVP after Cheat Engine was exposed, people couldnt help but think its because they were Cheating. Allowing people who were guilty of using that program to return was the nail in the coffin.

I actually preferred the game like that. I really did, bruh. I had so many more enjoyable and memorable experiences when the game was like that. Nowadays it's kinda infuriating at times.

Vulkhel Guard used to never be jammed pack, and my favorite place to mellow out. Nowadays? It's always packed from EP and DC standing around dueling people. Craglorn? So yes. I do miss the segregated alliance days. Let us yellows deal with strictly other yellows. Let the reds deal with reds. And blues with blues. I'm so damn tired of this mixing that's occurring.

I would say getting booted all night for me is what is doing it. I have not gone 5 minutes without getting booted.
My daughter was going to buy the game, but I am going to tell her to save her money.
Didn't have one problem other than major server crashes until last night. If this continues I am going to be done. I am just glad I bought the game on sale and completed most of it.

Amazingly, lag for me has been completely fine this past week besides I believe 1 disconnect a couple days ago. Previously have gotten more, sometimes successively. Ping in the 80-100 range is totally playable.

RNG is not that random in my opinion.

When I farm alchemy mats in the hollow city, I can make a few circles and there's a ton of cornflowers, then a few mins later I can make a few circles and there's a ton of something else.

Broke elbow recently so spent the time playing one handed to farm.

In Crag, would farm for literally hours. Normally when I find one nirn, within 30 mins, I've found another 3 - 5. Can go rest of the day without finding any.

Of course this could be down to luck, but it's happening way way too often for that to be the case imo

Between all the disappointment in this game anymore, Rng system, constant grind, cheaters, gold farmers and bots( oh and zos approving), GT monopolies buying from gold sellers, rising cost of a lot of things, horrible economy and don't flame on the economy if you run a guild with tons of money using gold sellers. You know what I mean. It has ruined it for the average person. Crafting isn't worth anything anymore, writs and master writs are crap and need rework. Housing space is too limited. Morrowind update. Love the content, hate the changes. I could go on and on. Coming from someone who has played since beta on pc, it seems this game has taken a drastic change for the worse. It is sad as I am an avid Elder Scrolls fan and love the lore and everything about it. I am just not sure what Zos is thinking. Seems they tailor their game only to streamers, cheaters, pvpers and peeps with deep pockets. Maybe it is what they want for their playstyle. Even the community is becoming extremely toxic in game. I sum it all up to a lot of players not being happy. I hear friends and guildies saying how tired they are of everything all the time. Time for a break I guess.

The day a MMO relies on streamers and Twitch for survival will be the day that MMO dies. Fortunately, 98% of MMO players have not the slightest interest in either.

I get it that some players suffer from lag, and I get that some players promote the superiority of PvP one minute and then rant about teabagging the next, it was ever thus.

I also get it that for some players grinding/farming is the only way they want to play the game and for them RNG is always going to be an issue.

As for the forums, all forums like all games are subject to a marked slowdown in activity in the hot Summer months. It's also, of course, an indication that the number of people posting about issues with the game aren't representative of the broad mass of players who are actually playing the game quite contentedly.

I imagine the devs are quieter than usual because they're working hard between updates, but if you keep an eye on the Dev Tracker you'll see that they are about and are acknowledging things like lag. However, when you see the kind of rubbish and insults they have to put up with a lot of the time when they do communicate I can well understand why they limit their communications.

In any event, you only have to wander through the game to see an awful lot of players still around and having trouble-free fun.

The transmog system is going to be exactly the same as when we asked for barbershop system. It's going to develop wrong and it's going to cost too much because it should be a free in-game gold feature. Do you want to monetize it? Great, sell us a lot of cool exclusive motifs, but please, don't monetize the transmog system.

For those that have 'moved on' from ESO, clearly you havent found anything better, else it amazes me the time and effort people put into coming back to a fan forum to hate on the game. Just go and don't look back if it's so bad.

Personally, I love it as much as ever. Sure there are bugs, I'm not blind, but on console is the best there is of this time of game. And Pro's outweigh the cons. Just adapt around the problems and find enjoyment where you can.

As for streamers, really don't care. All they are good for is inflating prices on gear & recipes which I am grateful for.

Here is what happened to ESO.

The Devs picked up the gun and shot their own game. No one plays it anymore. I just log in for a few mins to check my research and log out.

I have no more will to play this game.

I've only had the game a little over a month and am already bored of it. I find the story tired and sort of boring myself.

The lag can get pretty bad at times, but heck, their single player games lag you guys didn't expect them to make an MMO without lag? lol
