Guild Leadership Tip:

If you are going to give anyone bank access, make it a position they have to buy into. For instance, create a rank in the guild and advertise that for 500k (just as an example), you have a lifetime access to the guild bank.

This will ensure two things:

1) They are already pretty well off.
Things people store in guild banks do not tend to be super high end items, or items that sell for a lot, or are highly sought after. Simply put, you do not put those kinds of thing into public access. If someone already has that kind of money they are less likely to just empty out the bank and keep everything as they likely don't need any of it.

2) IF they do take anything, you are already likely able to cover the cost of any of the items that were taken. So its more or less like an insurance policy.

Under no circumstances should anyone but the leader of the guild, and people close to them, have access to the guild bank gold account. Only two other people in my guild have that access. And they are people I know in real life.

As others have said, lock it down. Also, I would tell EVERYONE who this person is. Not only for ensuring no one else is dealing with this kid, but also because I would personally love to start overflowing his inbox with potatoes, because he/she is an idiot.

Talking like he/she is some Billy Badass, and in reality, they are a fraud. They stole from your guild. They more than likely acted alone. We are the Four Horseman and we stole your stuff. Please. Guy certainly has a flare for the dramatic. I personally don't buy his story. He might have been able to pass it off as believable if he hadn't played it way over the top. But if you are still worried, could you not simply remove all guild member's access to the bank until such a time that this issue is resolved?

I'm still pretty new at the game and have no idea how the guild functions work. That being said, the guy does straight up tell you what sort of bank access these supposed "sleepers" have in the guild. Could that not help in some way to narrow down the potential culprits? In the very unlikely scenario that this is all legitimate, of course.

The best thing to do is remove bank access by everyone, except the guild leader. This guarantees that NO ONE will be able to rob the guild bank, ever. Leave it like that for the next 6 months, a year.. or until the end of time.

@timidobserver Yes this works really well in real life too. I like it when we select a criminal, identify them and their crimes to the whole world (community, whatever) so that the citizens can take care of them in the calm, rational way they are all known for behaving as. Especially when you rile them up in a pack against someone they perceive as a bad, bad person. ^^

I highly doubt this guy actually has a group, but you may as well pump up who is allowed to access your guild bank to yourself or moderators only. Alternatively, make it open access (except for gold?) to all and treat it as a donation box. There's not really another option for the way you can handle your guild bank in this game, unfortunately. Requires either lots of hands-on, or absolute anarchy.

and no he wasent playing a thief, him and his *** friends are thives pure and simple

it just dispresess me that there are so meny *** in the world who have no positive social etiquette

and a feck of a lot seem to be gamers - grand sweeping genralisation but give a feck

this kind of behaviour realy puts me of playing multplayer games, at least with co-op's i can chose who i play with such as my rl bro, personal mates etc

You can ask them to send you the name in private and I suggest getting in on Dubolg's Blacklist Addon which will automatically kick people on black lists and lots of guilds use it to share the names of bad people.

You know there's a checkbox in guild ranks where you can prevent people taking out cash or items? After a couple of bank robberies we are now "ask an officer if you want something from the guild bank" and I'm the only one who can withdraw cash (which I don't do btw).

I do wish there were better guild bank controls however - I would like to be able to allow by rank taking out of x number of white/green or white/green/blue quality goods per day.

I'm kind of curious about the GM who took out 8 million and then left, I run a trading guild on NA/PC and I put in about 500k a week towards raffle prizes and running costs - if I did decide to do a runner (which won't happen), 8 million wouldn't even begin to pay back what I have put in over the last couple of years - I would never do that, but perhaps there is some perspective here and that was actually money that the GM had put in to start with or something. People seem to think that as I run a guild I must be wealthy, but the truth is that a lot of my personal gold gets fed back into the guild in one way or another.
