Nightblade's Dark Shade: Which morphs are best/useable with necropotence?

I've been interested in making a magnb for a long while, but they didn't seem to be very effective until this patch. I've been looking at certain builds and they never mention dark shade, which seems to be free dps considering its duration, but I rarely see anyone adding it to PVE builds.

On a hybrid NB tank I have with Baharah's curse/Shalk Exoskeleton/Malubeth, I was hitting 750 a hit with the double shadow morph, so in theory it seems like it could hit decent dps with a damage focused build. What are the pro's opinions on it? Also, does it proc with necropotence and could that potentially be a strong increase to my other damage options?

most people don't mention shades unless they're talking about tanking because shades USED to steal buffs. Shades are great for tanking because they're the cheapest shadow skill to cast which then procs resistance buffs.

In group shades are alright, but not awe inspiring. They do great with necro since they proc it but I still find them lack luster in damage. Even the other morph isn't that great either.

PvP they decent, they will maim and drain their blocking stat, but they are wonky on the rotation because you have many skills that expire at the same time as it does.

It's a skill I take but always have a hard time justifying on my bar.

See mostly I was wondering, against a stationary target, which morph would do more damage? I also kind of like the escape mechanic because that would help with some boss mechanics without having to rely on rolling, now that siphoning attacks doesn't give both resources.

Does any NB ability scale harder on magicka than spell damage, like the Sorc? Or is necropotence generally weaker for them compared to julianos?

Dark Shades will do a little more damage on a stationary target compared to Shadow Image, but nothing great. The skill is mostly used for the utility though (buff/debuff/teleport).

Other thing to consider in pvp is DS will proc 'when hit' effects on the enemy more often also which combined with movement issues makes it only a good choice in pve, and even there i'd only recommend it for tanks where you control the movement and don't need a teleport.
