This is just a general discussion concerning game notifications. As it stands; while the player is in any kind of UI menu or in combat, notifications for queues such as those listed above don't take priority. Instead, a sound is played, and the small notifications icon is updated.
This makes sense, as having a random event pop up on the users screen that overrides input could lead to several different kinds of issues.
However, as this is not accompanied by any significant visual (only a sound) it can be easily overlooked by players for a variety of reasons (music, talking, video, etc.)
So, I'd like to ask: Could this system be improved?
Would it be a good QoL change to include a larger visual notification in conjunction with the current sound notification? (it wouldn't override input, but would indicate that there is a check available)
Would it be better to have an in-game options that allow these notifications to take priority when they pop up?
What are your thoughts on this topic?
