One shot mechs, ice ago mmo's
One shot mechs in a game are awful. There is no issue is dps checks, but when you got world bosses that one shot ya if you don't hit a combo button thats just awful. No issue with it doing an insane amount of dmg. I would like to see this changed, but i know it wont be since the other camp loves it because it adds mechanics that you have to do. You can do that though without one shots.

✭✭✭✭✭It's an old gimmick dungeon Devs use when they run out of ways to keep boss fights interesting . I agree and do not like that . The reverse is making a mechanical puzzle in order to damage a boss , that's not so bad but with games like God of War that came out with ways to make boss fights epic , I expect Devs to be more creative in MMOs .5 -

It is a mechanics that will not one shot if handled correctly.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭It's not just the "press these buttons or you die", but just normal random attacks. Some Bosses fire off One Shot attacks almost constantly and if your resistances aren't high enough to just barely mitigate them, all you can do is dodge, and if you're a Magic character, you dodge roll two or three times and then you're screwed cause now you're out of stamina and the Boss just so happens to have one more attack coming with your name on it.

✭Shields being as strong as they are necessitate bosses doing obscene amounts of damage with normal attacks or intermittent attacks/mechanics. IMO the whole shield-twice-your-health-bar thing was probably a bad idea.
This also makes healing a DPS who doesn't use their shields when they should in vet dungeons a tremendous pain in the ass.Edited by ecru on July 3, 2017 1:17AMGryphon Heart

✭✭✭✭✭If the bosses didn't have a way to really pack a punch then basically every fight is stand together and swing while the healer spams healing springs. There should be consequences for making a mistake at just the wrong time. if you are going to go in with a glass cannon you need to be ready to bob and weave.
The only boss that really irritates me is the one where a tornado will push you back into the red after you roll out of it. Forget the name but that one can be a real pain sometimes. It is a fun fight though especially if the group doesn't have the DPS to just burn it.and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."1 -

Yes, a friend and I accidentally went into vet Tempest, instead of normal, when we were two manning dungeons. We thought we might as well see how far we can get rather than just quit.
Couldn't get past the final boss - those storms made it near impossible to get out and stay out of the red circle and once one of us died, the other followed very quickly.Australian on PS4 NA server.
